If I’m wrong about Atlanticmike and/or if the current crisis still isn’t resolved to your satisfaction, I’ll step down for a period of time and release the moderators (in whom I am well pleased) from any obligation of being clones of me and give them free rein to do as they see fit. Hell, I’ll even let them change the rules (with the exception of Universal Rule #12, which is exempt from alteration).

I agree, but the problem is that not everybody does ignore him, so we need moderator action. I've had him on ignore for months now.

There's that, and as I have said elsewhere there is the repellent effect on visitors of seeing a board covered in troll droppings. They are unlikely to stay around.

Also some of us feel just a little bit resentful that AM's 'free speech' (in reality just yelling and f**ting at everybody else) is given precedence over everybody else's interests. His opinions are not the issue. His clear intention to disrupt and if possible destroy this board is.

Yeah, this is what I'm most disheartened by: Shades is favoring the trolls over the people who have been contributing to this board for years now.

I was telling Jersey Girl that this feels like a situation where the CEO has become unable to preform his duties, and the board of execs would be justified in removing the CEO from his position. The stockholders are complaining about their shares rapidly losing value, and the CEO is saying, "Give me 10 days."

Maybe Schmo as a canary, Shulem as a parakeet, Honorentheos as an owl, and Philo Soffe as a French hen. Worried about AM and Binger dressed up as Catz and singing Memories. Almost need Doc Cam in the role of the mongoose in that scenario.
