That was pretty unhinged. There really is a problem with this. I have a difficult time with those who behave as though there is certainty and consensus on an issue when that is far from being the case. Although the following is surely not the case, one would think that Democrats had looked at the extremism of anti-abortion activists and went out to find their own issue of this kind. Big emotions, little certainty, much posturing and intolerance.Hound of Heaven wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 4:21 pmhttps://youtu.be/aV30g4DiccQ?si=gKwtrhMLp_vC9-Op

This video illustrates the consequences of an exaggerated perspective on the trans issue. This video features a CNN panel, and it seems that the gentleman being interrupted mid-sentence for the purpose of belittlement on national television is likely a Democrat. This type of unreasonable conduct is unacceptable! This clip will be utilized in 2026 to persuade voters that the Democrats are unable to manage the far-left faction within the party. This is why we lost!

Out of the two options, should we ditch the GI war or ditch calling out fascism for what it is, we definitely -- from a strategic point of view at least -- should ditch the GI war.Kish wrote:That was pretty unhinged. What do you mean by the "GI war" in this instance? "GI" could stand for a number of things. If I missed you clarifying what you mean by that in a previous post, I apologize.Gadianton wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 2:59 amOut of the two options, should we ditch the GI war or ditch calling out fascism for what it is, we definitely -- from a strategic point of view at least -- should ditch the GI war.Kish wrote:That was pretty unhinged. No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

We definitely need more people like John Fetterman in government! And also more people like James Talarico, who clearly point out how horribly antithetical so called "Christian Nationalism" is to the actual teachings of Jesus of Nazareth.canpakes wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 11:29 pm.
John Fetterman weighs in on some things:
This is a deeply personal kind of conversation between doctors and between their parents and the child themselves. But what I'm saying, though, turning it into like, where we're weaponizing that — that's part of what’s gross in our American politics right now. It punishes the people that have these kinds of internal conflicts, or they happen to feel that way and how they identify. It's not appropriate to mock them or to say those kinds of things.
AUSTIN, Texas —The representative and aspiring preacher hadn’t planned to deliver a sermon when he went to work at the state capitol that morning.
Sitting in a drab committee room last month, Texas Rep. James Talarico, among the youngest members of the statehouse now at 34, was slowly getting fed up as he sat through a hearing for a bill that would mandate putting the Ten Commandments in every public school classroom in the state. A week prior, he’d sat through a committee hearing on a bill that would allow chaplains to replace guidance counselors. He was already dreading another floor debate scheduled for later in the day for a bill denying gender-affirming health care. So by the time the Ten Commandments came up that morning, Talarico had had it.
He looked squarely at the bill’s sponsor, state Rep. Candy Noble, whom he acknowledged as a fellow “devout Christian,” before letting loose a two-minute and nine-second exchange that would go viral on TikTok and Twitter, racking up more than 1 million views on Twitter alone.
“This bill to me is not only unconstitutional, it’s not only un-American, I think it is also deeply un-Christian,” he told her, as she stood motionless. “And I say that because I believe this bill is idolatrous. I believe it is exclusionary. And I believe that it is arrogant, and those three things, in my reading of the Gospel, are diametrically opposed to the teachings of Jesus.” He cited Matthew 6:5, in which Jesus urges his disciples to not pray publicly like the hypocrites.

If people could keep their cool and just soberly report what they see, there would be no need to ditch anything. Instead everyone in the media game makes bank by turning the news into Maury Povich.

Sorry for beating a dead sorrel but, if this isn't the same poster who shows up on here from time to time with the same game but a different jersey, I'd miss my guess.Hound of Heaven wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 12:56 pmIn very simple terms, disruptive innovation takes place when a company, service, or product outperforms or is more affordable than current options, after going through changes. It seems quite clear that Trump is pursuing a form of Disruptive innovation strategy to enhance government efficiency, as evidenced by his latest cabinet selections. He isn't depending on experienced government employees who have a deeper understanding of the system than he does. He is appointing loyalists who will enable him to exert considerable influence across all government departments.
His objective is to examine every nook and cranny of the government, reduce the workforce by half, optimize the operations of each branch, and enhance overall productivity. If Trump succeeds in his efforts and we find ourselves on MSNBC and CNN opposing all his initiatives, we risk losing even more seats in Congress and the Senate in the 2026 elections. If the progressives are permitted to dictate the Democratic agenda in the coming years, it will result in ongoing disputes and insults, ultimately pushing independents and conservative Democrats toward the Republicans.
The vast majority of Americans are weary of the constant negativity coming from both sides. The side that emerges triumphant will be the one that enhances the lives of the average American citizen. What is our strategy for moving forward as the Democratic Party while enabling the progressives to shape the agenda? I assert that we can no longer permit the progressives to dictate the agenda within our party. Their extreme agenda is alienating an increasing number of Americans each day. We need to develop a plan that doesn't prioritize trans rights and skin color. People are tired of identity politics. Voters are eager to understand the actions the Democratic Party will take on their behalf!
I don't understand how we lost sight of why people vote. Voters desire a sense of happiness and wish to visit the grocery store or gas station without needing to check their bank account balance before making a purchase. I'm not suggesting that trans rights lack significance; rather, I believe they should be prioritized around 30th on the list of what matters to the Democrat party if we aim to succeed in 2026, rather than being at the forefront. If Trump manages to eliminate a quarter to a third of the government while maintaining or even improving its functionality, our party could find itself in a challenging position. At some point, we must accept the change and work to shape it into something we can utilize, asserting that we could foster even greater freedom and prosperity. Or does anyone have a more suitable suggestion?

Now, some might say that this is a prime example of a guy (me) going for yuk yuks by picking on a soft target. It isn't. The plaintiff introduced the comedy at the OP and is therefore open to cross.

Re: The Path Forward
Why do boldly and frequently repeated lies, backed by no evidence whatsoever, often seem more persuasive to more people than hard truths supported by incontrovertible evidence? It is almost like many people have the idea that there is always something inherently suspicious about presenting evidence for one's claims, because if they were really true, they would immediately be self-evident, without any need for supporting evidence.
