A little classic and a little "new":

Dr. Shades has the best record collection of all time.

To be fair to the Twisted Vintage blog, Svetlana Gruebbersolvik is not a real person, and therefore was unable to create that album. : D

Like Dr Chung's Velvet Underground & Nico album cover, this was another Andy Warhol creation. The early issues of Sticky Fingers had a zipper that could be opened to reveal the skivvies underneath. Unfortunately, for a whole host of reasons, later re-issues just featured photos of the jeans.

Ha! Warhol did like his phallic imagery.
For shame! :o

I actually posted this last night in the wee hours, thought better of it, and deleted it.

Yes, it was what one might call an "interactive" cover. I have it. ;)
Ha! I could almost have predicted this. You're outstanding, Jersey.

I really enjoy interactive album covers, like Some Girls.

The band Monomena has done interactive stuff with the majority of their CDs, which I absolutely love. Especially as more artists seem to be going minimalist paper-only type cases nowadays. Their album "Friend or Foe" kind of does the same thing as "Some Girls" with cutouts on the case itself. Then you can rotate the CD to fill in the holes with different things. "I Am the Fun Blame Monster" is my favorite though. The album is also a flip book. (Short YouTube clip of the flip book)

Henry Diltz had a great job, so many iconic album cover photos. Years ago I saw a documentary or short piece on Diltz's photography and album covers. I don't remember too many specifics other than they tore the house down (below) that CSN were were sitting on the couch in front of the very next day. The producers did not like that they were sitting out of order, and wanted Crosby and Nash to change places. The rest is history.

More Diltz....
