My initial thought was that, many years ago, Nomomo and his brother had probably dated the same woman, and that the brother had married her when she became pregnant. Subsequent revelations by the sister-in-law may have raised Nomomo's suspicions.

Has he denied it?
Has he confirmed it?
Neither. So both possibilities are open, and one is entitled to ask which is the more likely.

Did he deny witnessing the golden plates and seeing Reformed Egyptian characters?

Are we sure this particular discussion was ever on any rails?

Given the fact that we know about it because one of the involved parties decided to share, it seems to me it's obvious which is more likely.

He shared it because he’s panicking. The reason he’s panicking is because of the extremely high likelihood of birth defects that result from making sweet love to one’s sister.

If it was only his sister-in-law to whom he’d made passionate love, then he wouldn’t be worried about birth defects, which means he wouldn’t be panicking enough to ask our advice.

So yes, it is indeed obvious which is more likely.

I might be my nephew's dad. What is the best way to find out?
And despite four pages of posts, not one further word from Nomomo.

It seems like you're extrapolating a lot from a little here Dr. S. You obviously know more than the rest of us as you informed us as you are aware his sister is a hottie. I don't see any panic indicated in the OP, and could almost see a little hint of boasting. I mean, why even ask the question. Who doesn't already know about paternity testing. So, if not boasting...What?

Nomomo's posting history doesn't show any sign of him being an idiot, and only an idiot would ask a message board he would desire to maintain respect on what to do if he bagged his sister.

I personally think Morley's theory is a longshot, so I'm sticking with Sis-in-law.
