Thank you, Mr. President, for handing over $10 million to your contractor friends to fill the Washington DC Reflecting Pool with green algae.

I’m sure that your friends will appreciate your continued transfer of additional taxpayer money into their accounts, over and over again, to use in ensuring that the Pool stays a beautiful green color.

<snip pic>
One of the bemusing things in all of this (other than the President handing out a no-bid contract, at a margin rate higher than standard, thus taking a giant dump on taxpayers), is that he made the reflecting pool into a big MAGA identity thing.

Watching MAGA types flail about, spanning the spectrum of "actually, algae is no big deal, and totally expected" (after blaming Obama for the algae), to "this is obviously sabotage by Deep State leftists in the Park Service" is incredible.

Yet another cautionary tale of making a key component of your identity fealty to a malignantly incompetent and pathologically dishonest grifter.

Algae is inevitable with any body of water that size that is surrounded by vegetation and wildlife (without adding in grazers... which brings a new set of complications for managing the nitrogen and phosphorous -- certainly doable, but not simple). Yet, because MAGA -- in their perpetual idiocy -- decided that basic aquatic biology is the fault of Democrats... here we are, with a totally normal and natural occurrence, having to be blamed on sabotage, while even more taxpayer dollars are spent on frantic chemical dumps to try to combat it.

It appears that the only thing that this President appears capable of doing consistently and competently is bitching about virtually everything and blaming everyone else for his own failures.

Well, I mean, to be fair, the reflecting pool IS Kamela Harris's fault.........

This is an actual photo of the felon (and Trump's friend and neighbor) that Trump handed a $14 million no-bid contract to restore the Reflecting Pool.

Knowing what we know, is it unreasonable to want Trump to die a painful death in a fire?

Asking for a friend.

I disagree. Wanting him to die is a hope that decent Americans will stop suffering (and dying) as a result of his incompetence. My incompetence isn't killing anyone.

Better that one man die than a whole nation. Can't remember where I heard that, but it seems reasonable.

Do you remember what happened to King Noah after getting his wish to put Abinadi to death by fire? Does that seem reasonable to you as well?
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Pardon my ignorance, but what was wrong with the original Reflecting Pool that required an overhaul? And what was the overhaul supposed to change?

In this timeline, Trump is the contemporary King Noah.

You might read that book more closely, next time.

It hadn’t yet been turned into a partisan subject by Trump.

Then his ‘fix’ basically made it worse while wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on shoddy work by Trump’s contractor friends.

But screeeetch something something Obama!, and now here we are.
