Thanks for your clarification of what really happened in that instance. However, the actual rioters certainly do deserve being called terrorists and being put on no fly lists. And though the crying man in the video was not involved in the riot, he certainly deserved being removed from the airplane because of his irrational refusal to wear a mask.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 4:20 pmHe was lying.
https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/e ... pitol-riotAccording to a statement from American Airlines, the video was taken on Friday at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The company confirmed that the man in the video was removed from a flight to Denver for refusing to comply with the company's policies requiring face coverings for all passengers over the age of 2.

No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Re: Faceplant three: memes
In this land of ten second sound bytes, pseudo profundities and re-posted memes, I feel like it might be time for a little primer on how to post a proper meme.
Since any swinging dip can post a meme, the challenge is... how to construct one that is: (1) At least mildly funny, (2) makes an easily perceivable point, (3) carries a bit of irony, (4) isn't too offensive to the opposing team.
Here are a couple making the rounds just now.
Example one: (see below)
Example two:
(picture of the Obamas)
"Not even bleach will clean up this crap-stain"
Example one: Meets the criteria.
Example two: Not so much. (1) Okay, it's midly funny... I guess. (2) What's the point? (3)The only irony is the backfire on the poster of whose idiot suggested bleach in the first place. (4) It's only not offensive if one is a (Warning, offensive language) racist asshole.

Thanks for the meme Doc C.

Re: Faceplant three: Peer review
Before one loads up their camper with TNT and goes looking for the ATT building/ lizard people headquarters, one might wanna make double sure they got their facts straight.
Problem (1) A whole lotta people still think the election was fraudulent. (my opinion that this is a problem)
Problem (2) How does one sift through the mountain of BS out there to make double sure they have their facts straight.
All I have to offer is my basic understanding of how a scientist might attempt to confirm a hypothesis: Subject one's theory to all information available. Do the best one can to mitigate confirmation bias. Submit one's findings to peer review studies.
Problem (3) Where to submit one's findings: (in my opinion) Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, etc. is not the place to have a meaningful discussion. These formats are memes, soundbites and restless scroll fingers. I believe the best place to discuss issues is a smallish discussion forum. A place where one can establish relationships. A place where one can take time to prepare their case, where a thread can last for months, with 2 - 10 people weighing in.
Summary: Posting memes can be fun/has it's place. It might be helpful though . . . in prevention of a civil war, to subject one's position to absolute comprehensive scrutiny. Prepare your case, cite your sources, provide your links, submit your findings. See if it holds up.
It is not my intent to accuse anyone on here of not being right with themselves as to their position. It's just that, there is a lot of crazy out there right now, and I have no idea how it can be fixed.

Okay well, I guess this does meet the four points of crafting a quality meme. Barely. Righties seem to have a hard time with the irony part though. I mean, uh, the Right is accusing the Left of 'drinking the 'Kool-Aid'... I gotta say, if the left is drinking a punch, I would love to see the ingredients in the Donald's elixer. Let's see.... 10 R's attempt think for themselves and vote to impeach and the entire Right side legion calls for their heads. A Q*bert crazy gets voted into office, and the Right wants to make her 'Savior of Rome'. A corrupt impecile A.G. from Texas files an election lawsuit, and a majority of R's jump on board. A lawsuit that the Supreme Court dismisses with, (Paraphrased) - you cannot be serious. But yeah, brainwashed lefties. Babble on Bea.
