Sasse announced in 2016 that he didn't support Trump, so I'm not sure he is really hanging with a relevant Republican crowd.
But, to be fair, Republicans tend to have a more diverse and tolerant crowd with regard to independent thinking. Thus is difficult to claim that "1" is representative of all...but your anecdote is totes encouraging to the hair fire hopeful.

Can I ask a stupid question? (There are no stupid questions.)

What on earth makes DJT think we WANT him to be our President in 2021? He hasn't done his job for the last oh, I dunno, 8 weeks? He's been out on the golf course every stinking day while thousands of Americans die from Covid and while the delivery system for the vaccines is evidently falling short and the vaccine is not warp-speeding it's way into the arms of the first 20 million as promised.

So what in his narcissistic psychopath brain makes him think anyone wants him to do the job he's NOT doing now?

Yes, I know about the grift. But still.

And here is something else I that I thought of while I reflected on the obvious fact that the whole entire country is now on life support to one degree or another while we're waiting for someone to pull the plug on HIM and get the Biden show on the road.

You know how he's failed to address American's in need and pissed off our allies, basically alienated the U.S. from the rest of the world, pulling out of the Z-pak, I mean the Paris accord and all the destruction his corrupt, self serving, and self referential nature has caused right on down to knowing the truth about the virus and withholding that information from the American public because he didn't want us to panic when HE was really the one in panic mode because he didn't want it to blacken his chances for re-election and so he somehow thought if he told us fairy tales about magic and crap, that a real virus wouldn't make itself know to real people and thus, start picking off real people?

What we see around us is emblematic of what he really is. Think about it. The ultimate result of him being in power has been destruction and decay, chaos, and instability. And why? Because he created that with which he is familiar. It's exactly how his father created HIM. It's all he knows. It's all he's ever known. Everything he touches turns to crap because the only thing he knows how to do is create crap and chaos. He was raised up on magical thinking...he's a warrior...he's a tough guy...he's a winner...and never had to do an honest day's work in his entire life thus never developing the skill to make it in this world by anything other than alternately bullshitting and threatening everyone he's ever come in contact with.

Because crap and chaos, instability and decay, is what he really is inside.
