I fear that Brian Tyler Cohen might be right. This coming midterm election might be the last chance we have to prevent the GOP from so deeply rigging things and entrenching themselves in office that they can never again be voted out of office, no matter what the majority of the electorate really wants. There used to be honest and fair Republicans years ago. I was one of them. I feel more like the Republican party left me, than like I left them.

Patients Experiencing Miscarriages Denied Necessary Medication.
Some patients in Texas who have been miscarrying have reported that pharmacies are denying them medication, out of fear they will use the prescription for an abortion. Dr. Lauren Thaxton, an OB-GYN out of Texas, joins Katie Phang to discuss. » Subscribe to MSNBC:
One unintended yet almost inevitable consequence of the overturning of RvW and the extreme anti-abortion legislation now being enacted by many states as a result, is jeopardizing the health and sometimes the very lives of women who have unintended, spontaneous miscarriages, which occur in at least 10% and up to 40% of all pregnancies, because doctors will be forbidden to prescribe the very drugs needed to treat the victims of such spontaneous miscarriages. Thus, women experiencing such undesired miscarriages, in addition to the sorrow and trauma of losing a wanted pregnancy, are now subjected to potentially health and, in some cases, even life-threatening situations because the drugs needed to treat them are banned.

Does anyone here fail to see the utter stupidity and injustice and inherent cruelty of this situation? This is in addition to the very real possibility that women who experience such unwanted miscarriages and their doctors will automatically, in some states, be unjustly investigated and sometimes even prosecuted for having caused the termination of the pregnancy!
Here is a prime example of what the link I provided in my last post on this subject warned about.

Miscarrying woman 'lost multiple liters of blood' because doctors had to wait to treat her under abortion laws.
A doctor in Texas says that one of her miscarrying patients recently suffered gravely due to restrictions placed on medical professionals by the Lone Star State's abortion laws.

In an interview with the Associated Press, San Antonio-based Dr. Jessian Munoz revealed that a patient recently came to him while she was miscarrying and was developing what the AP describes as "a dangerous womb infection."

Even though the fetus had no chance of survival, Munoz was legally barred from trying to remove it until no heartbeat could be detected, which meant the patient had to suffer for hours while she "lost multiple liters of blood" and had to be put on a breathing machine.

“We physically watched her get sicker and sicker and sicker," said Munoz, who said that they only moved to operate on the patient a full day later than they should have, as that is how long it took for no fetal heartbeat to be detected.

Munoz also told the AP that this is not how he used to treat women with this condition before the Supreme Court overturned decades of precedent earlier this year by ending the nationwide right to have an abortion.

"It was like, the mom’s life is in danger, we must evacuate the uterus by whatever means that may be,” he explained. “Whether it’s surgical or medical — that’s the treatment... the art of medicine is lost and actually has been replaced by fear."

During the 49 or so years since the Roe decision (1973) we have had four democrat presidents and three very liberal republican presidents. ALL FOUR democrats have had super majorities where the house, senate and executive offices were unified. ALL FOUR!!!! Every democrat president had unification, including consecutive sessions for Carter. And yet, none of those presidents and legislatures codified the rights, terms and conditions for abortion.

The court had been turned into a political tool that was used for political purposes because the legislature and executive branches were lazy or incompetent. So, the court sent the process back to the states to do this correctly. It was a decision that can be defended, even if you or me or we do not like it.

Abortion is not illegal. Abortion does not appear in the constitution. The legislatures have a responsibility to remedy this. They did not. Now they must.

Are your rights as an American citizen limited to those specifically listed in the Constitution? What is the "this" that you think state legislatures "must" remedy?

So, not so important that the Constitution doesn't say "abortion."

"Leglislating laws" is what state legislatures "must" remedy by "legislating laws?" Profound.
