Nike:

Have been made in China, Vietnam, and Indonesia. They started moving overseas in the 1980's and opened their first factory in China around 1980. They actually opened a Japan "plant" in 1964.

Was bought by Nike years ago and have been made overseas for years. The last plant here closed in 2001.

Harley Davidson:

Make some models overseas, and from what I have just read, they started moving more to Thailand in 2023.

Markk, all those items you mentioned will be more expensive for American consumers due to Trump's tariffs.

Harley has several challenges ahead of it that are unrelated to tariffs, and due more to the cost of their cycles, and the overall direction of the company. Many younger riders see the company as aligning more with wealthy weekend warriors at the expense of providing a reasonably-priced alternative within the market. But the tariffs have also contributed to some negative perception of the brand with overseas enthusiasts. The next couple of years will be interesting for Harley.
