Very helpful. I refer to them as the Hadith.Marcus wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:21 pmwow. That's saying a lot.I'm glad the old mod threads are available for you guys, i'm sure that's helpful, given Shades' 'clone' requirement.A barrage of personal attacks can be interpreted as a form of UR 8 violation, but I’m not sure that’s even the point. For anyone who has ever been queued or ‘kingdom restricted’ in some way, their behavior has not necessarily been a tidy and explicit violation of a particular rule. Many of those cases represented the first of their kind, which means that there was no precedent. Waiting for a precedent as a reason to enact a particular solution cannot always work because something must always become the future precedent at a moment when none exists … yet action is still warranted at that moment.
Reviewing old cases via mod threads, I’m not finding anything yet that was previously acted on that was more severe than what has happened as of late, with one possible exception (at least my own opinion is that there is one exception).![]()

Had to look that one up:
perfect. : D...refers to what the majority of Muslims believe to be a record of the words, actions, and the silent approval of the Islamic prophet Muhammad as transmitted through chains of narrators. In other words, the ḥadīth are transmitted reports about what Muhammad said and did....

Maybe move his nonsense into the split already started with his other personal attacks and derailments? I can see canpakes is trying to reel him back in to the topic but it's hopeless once he starts ranting. This is an important thread. Please.
Some of those questions make for good subject matter with regard to moderation activities. It’s just that in my opinion he tries to constrain the scope of discussion within too narrow or contrived a range to be useful for honest examination of what’s really going on.

Good point and I agree. He's okay at briefly keeping up the bare bones appearance of a legitimate comment while obviously having only the intent to disrupt. However, his last two posts were just name-calling and baseless accusations, so it's clear we have once again passed the "good question" phase of his participation.canpakes wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 4:49 pmMarcus wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 4:29 pmIt's becoming difficult to use this thread as it was intended when you have to wade through binger's mindless derailments. (had to edit the one to two last posts because, of course, while I was writing this he spewed yet another hateful derail.)

Re: Rules and Moderator information
Question Time continues!
A gentle request: Question Time in Parliament consists of Members of Parliament asking questions to the designated representative of government and designated representative answering questions. For purposes of our Question Time, the designated representatives are Shades, CP, Xeno and me. Everyone else is an MP. I am the only one who has volunteered to answer all questions. The others are free to answer as the spirit moves them. Please follow the conventions of Question Time: the designated representatives answer questions. They do not ask them. All questions and comments by the MPs should be directed to the designated representatives and not to other MPs. The normal rules of SP, including language and personal attack apply, but I request that folks make an extra effort at civility.
My time is more limited today, so I apologize in advance for the time it will take me to respond.
Thanks.

Why don’t you guys just create a ‘bingbong bin’ where all his trash posts can be deposited? This way he isn’t censored, gets to spam out his trash, and you just move it to a stickied thread? He’s currently averaging 40’ish trash tier craps a day here, so just move them to a toilet bowl.

Do you have quantifiable records of the traffic on this board, and have you considered sharing that information with the members?

If you mean records of site or page views, not that I'm aware of.
If you mean numbers of posts, they are available for every poster on the profile page.

You prompted me to look this up, Res. Very interesting.

I also might answer questions as time permits/as is appropriate for the circumstances, and ‘as the spirit moves me’.

Re: Rules and Moderator information
I was "inspired" by listening to the Canadian Senate Question Time. I like the concept. I like the idea of Biden having to appear before the House and Senate and answer questions, even though it would involve a ton of grandstanding by Congresscritters.canpakes wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 5:55 pmRes Ipsa wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 5:13 pmQuestion Time continues!
