The bottom line is if we can’t hold Rosenbaum’s prior life, choices, and statements against him we’re forced to do the same with KR. If an adult male chose to aggressively rush, threaten, reach for, or whatever to or at KR then we’re now in the moment.
I just have to say, if he had been successful at disarming KR, he'd be called a hero for stopping an active shooter, just like anyone else has been when they've done the same.

But he failed and got killed. Therefore, idiot. I guess any civilian who tries to stop a deadly situation is an idiot.

How many rounds did KR fire off before Rosenbaum attempted to “disarm” him?

I’m surprised that no-one has yet made a joke about Rittenhouse attempting to “disarm” Grosskreutz.

Are you suggesting he'd have been less of an idiot if he'd tried after Rittenhouse started shooting?

Clearly, he had reason to think the douche was a threat.

Well, an active shooter implies KR was an active shooter. The only people he shot was from a defensive posture.

The point I was trying to make is that if the attempt to subdue was successful, Rosenbaum wouldn't be called an idiot.

I'm not the first to say there's a fine line between heroism and stupidity.

Well, that’s the whole problem, right? As soon as Rittenhouse aims the gun at someone, given the widespread notion of don’t aim at anything unless you intend to kill it, everyone around him likely has the legal ability to use force, including deadly force against him. If an unarmed guy chasing someone justifies use of deadly force, then it shouldn’t take much to justify use of deadly force against someone armed with a weapon designed to kill quickly and efficiently.

we all just have to live through it,
holding each other’s hands.

If Rosenbaum had ‘disarmed’ KR he would’ve just been a dude who attacked a kid and stole his rifle. I don’t the notion of heroism would’ve come into play because KR wasn’t an active shooter. I suspect it just would’ve been viewed as a chaotic scene that wouldn’t have garnered much attention at all.
