Kev I read your update shortly after you posted it. I haven't commented because I was completely unprepared to read this: "Difference is now she will be going through the pain while here at the house as an outpatient and I'm juggling life as her caretaker while dealing with the kids and work." I knew about some of the side effects, but I didn't know that pain was involved. I feel terrible that her treatment is painful.

You know, I've been following your story the whole time on Facebook. There is one photo there that is just one of the most incredible examples of real love, it brought tears and a smile at the same time.

She has battled her way for what seems like such a long time even though the calendar would disagree. Still and all, and even though she's not done yet, she's got a good outcome right in her hands now and I hope that will spur her on as she finishes off the cancer!

Wrestle it to the ground, beautiful warrior!

wow! I'm glad for you both that she is now cancer free. I hope she can stay that way!

This week I begin daily radiation treatment for prostate cancer, which I will probably have to endure for about 2 months. I'm not terribly worried, though. It's in its early stages, and prostate cancer tends to grow very slowly anyway, even if not treated, and is one of the most easily curable types of cancer. My urologist and oncologist both assure me that if one has to have cancer, prostate cancer is one of the best types to have. I am not in any pain or discomfort, and don't feel the slightest bit incapacitated, except for not being able to pee without the help of a catheter.

You're going to do just fine! I know you are! <3

Most of the innovation in breakthrough medicine comes from publicly funded Universities, not corporations investing in it. Capitalism gets involved once the drugs are patented by private pharmaceutical companies and they become too expensive for most people.
