You're equivocating on the term "democracy." We all know that democracy comes in several flavors, only one of which is "direct democracy." You are reacting to the term "democracy" as if Gadianton had said "direct democracy." But you should know better from context. Pretending that "democracy" and "constitutional republic" are somehow mutually exclusive is pure nonsense. Our federal and state governments are "constitutional" because we have constitutions. Our federal government, but not our states, are a "Republic" because Congress and the President are elected by State. Both are also representative democracies because the people elect representatives to govern, as opposed to directly voting on legislation. Although many states also have an element of direct democracy in the form of initiatives.
Rejecting "democracy" as a description of our country is a false, right-wing talking point.
The Constitution is a balance between the power of the people to control the government and the power of the government to prevent mob rule. Neglecting one side of that balance or the other is madness.
I'm not trying to deceive anyone.
https://pediaa.com/what-is-the-differen ... -republic/ Calm down. Saint Biden is still the president and is still too old to be prosecuted.
So, you link to an article on some website written by an English major? I have no idea what you are trying to do, but your statement that America is not a democracy is false and misleading.

I'm not trying to do anything nefarious like you are insinuating. And so what if it follows talking points of a particular ideology. Should that matter? Shouldn't reality take precedence over what a particular wing of the uniparty says? Take a look at the above, especially the last site where it quotes popular dictionaries on the idea of a constitutional republic. I don't know why you are worrying so much about this definition. However, if it suits you, call the US whatever you want. You live your truth.

Democracy is a form of government where power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or through freely elected representatives. I don’t understand the quibbling here.
If anything, I wonder if Article III erred by not having term limits for the Supreme Court appointments, but I understand the wisdom therein, so whatevs.

Please read what I wrote. The problem is not with the description “constitutional republic” — it is with your claim that the US is not a democracy. That’s patently false. And it’s currently being used as a rationalization to take power from the people. I don’t know why you insist on perpetrating a falsehood.

How is this being used to take power from the people? It's a definition that doesn't change reality. You call it democracy and I call it a constitutional republic. It doesn't change a thing. We still vote for representatives, presidents, and they are the ones that vote on bills that turn into laws.

I don't see why we are still arguing about this. The unequivocal fact is that whether or not we call this country a constitutional republic or representative republic or whatever, All legal, law-abiding American citizens aged 18 or above are (so far, at least) granted a legitimate and significant say in who shall represent them in local, state and federal governments. As long as the people are granted that say and can freely vote out of office representatives who fall out of favor with the majority for any reason, our government is by definition democratic in nature to a significant degree. Denying that we are in any way a democracy at the top of one's lungs until one is blue in the face or has an apoplectic stroke will not change that fact!
Though Trump will almost certainly try to end that if he wins next November. He has already made it abundantly clear that he will never admit that he lost the next election, no matter how great Biden's margin of victory. In fact, I am sure that if Biden wins, Trump will only declare that very win as evidence that the election must have been unfairly rigged against him.

The idea of a democracy has seemed to fall out of favor with American right-wing ideology. That is why they clamor for Viktor Orban, Bolsonaro, Trump, and Putin.
Had Bolsonaro diverted Brazilian revenues to buy a new luxury motor home for Supreme Court usage, perhaps he would get the nod as the next Governor of South Dakota.

You didn't ask a question. I did. Motion denied. Move for a more definite statement. How does calling the United States a Constitutional Republic being used to take power from the people?

Read what I wrote. You are repeatedly misstating my claim, and I know you’re smart enough to know that. My objection is to your description of the United States as “not a democracy.” I don’t understand why you are hiding behind a straw man instead of addressing my actual claim.
