Mike, if you want to divide the world up into solely progressives and conservatives, then I don’t see too much difference between either side on this issue. Folks from both sides can easily live their lives imagining that they’re oppressed by their perceived enemies.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 12:43 pmThe PROGRESSIVE lifestyle is all about helping the follower of progressivism to understand they're a victim.
Just using one popular example from the ‘right wing’ side of the fence about The War on Christmas® reveals a mindset of victimization given how many Christians and conservatives say that ‘their holiday’ is taken away from them if someone greets them with “Happy Holidays”, instead of their demanded “Merry Christmas”. This claim came from a conservative poster on this board just a few years back. It’s an example of an extreme perception of victimization, and entitlement.
Likewise for gay marriage, where some conservatives want to claim that the meaning of marriage is being taken away from them if some other couple marries. Likewise for any number of things that have many conservatives claiming oppression, including the idea that not believing in God as they do signals their persecution.
Your reply above essentially starts off with a display of victimization in that you can’t get scheduled for a therapy session instantly because some perceived progressives somewhere also apparently need to see a therapist, and they’re hogging the time slots. As if that’s the only issue that could be affecting your scheduling. This is a fine example of victimization and entitlement, on your part.
Anyone can say this about anyone else who claims to believe in Christianity, or any other religion. Then what?
