. . . the vast majority of sources I've followed for information on the pandemic and public health issues, as well as important legal cases, have moved to substack (which allows nice long form articles, but to get all the content you have to purchase a subscription for each author), mastodon (which is not well developed at this point) or Post (which I'm on the waitlist for, but am skeptical of).
Res, is ‘substack’ the same as ‘Substack Reader’ in the app store?
Substack Reader is a specialized app for accessing and reading Substacks. But you can also access them through the web. It's similar to reading Twitter using the web on your computer but using an app on your phone.
Substack hosts long(er) form journalism/articles, maybe a step up from a site like WordPress or Blogger. You sign up for a specific author using an e-mail address and you get an e-mail notice when the author publishes a new article. Most authors make a subset of articles for free, with all articles available for a monthly fee. It's a way for independent journalists to finance their work. There are a few former journalists for traditional media outlets who use the platform to continue their publishing. A couple of the epidemiologists and public health specialists that I've followed on Twitter now publish on substack. The writers who use substack often also publish articles in traditional media sources from time to time.
It's a good way to get content from a specific author, but not really a good source of finding a wide range of sources.

Jesus said, "Do not cast your pearls before swine, neither give that which is holy to the dogs."
OK. So you maintain that strife, prejudice and contempt will still be necessary and present in the afterlife, and when I ask you why they would be necessary, you tell me that the secret behind that need is too precious to share.
Maybe you’re right about folks being separated out in the afterlife; it might help that the perpetually angry spirits have their own island, to keep from ruining the mood of the rest of the place.
Yes. I didn't realize he was such a social media warrior.

Thanks. I just wasn't sure whether you were referring to Ted posting in his feed or in Musk's or Taibbi's. I don't think I've followed him on Twitter, but he gets retweeted fairly often by people I do follow. I think he's very good at calling BS in an effective manner. When he does, he's got "the receipts." He doesn't often make claims that he has to walk back.
Taibbi has done some excellent journalism. But I think he's shown some very questionable judgment as of late, and getting sucked into this "Twitter Files" debacle was exceptionally poor judgment.
