No. The Base is not the primary target of this narrative past inciting their faux rage and whataboutism.

The primary goal is to create a wedge that seeks to divide some voters outside of the Base by initiating hand-wringing and discussions of how to defuse the supposed allegations, which then lends those allegations some credibility where none is deserved.

If there was meat here, then folks like subs would be able to do something more than pretend that Hunter Biden’s board seat actually led to something illegal. But subs is incapable of doing anything other than squatting with his thumb up his arse, repeating the same allegation but offering no facts.

This secondary goal of marshaling the Base via meme is still useful, obviously, given that this conversation is occurring. More chaff and distraction in the system serves Trump. ; )

I don't know why people think engaging the base is superflous. There isn't a bloc of 40ish % of voters who will turn out to vote for the President no matter what. Some of them can be persuaded to vote for someone else or not at all. Making them believe that everyone is corrupt - that's just what politicians are like - helps ease a person's willingness to vote for Trump, who is obviously corrupt. It allows the message that at least he's corrupt and on their side to carry more force.

You're not gonna reach these people most effectively by trying to prove the Swift-boating of you is false, though. If you're defending yourself from it, you're already losing. You got to try to cut the Swift-boating off at the media coverage decision level.

Biden might me a mild favorite to be the Democratic nominee at this point, but whomever is the nominee is going to be Swift-boated as surely as the sun will set. I hope they don't think the best way to tackle this is engaging in detailed defenses of what "really happened" at the campaign level.

My office is discussing the impeachment openly for the first time today and it is wild. I just listened to a debate over how many Senators there are. It was eventually resolved via google, which led to the shocking discovery that Bernie Sanders isn’t a Democrat. Someone then asked if this means he cannot run for the Democratic nomination.

These are people with college degrees.

I'm sure I've missed a location or two.

What are they "protesting"? it seems more appropriate to call it a rally...being against something is a protest...calling for something is a rally...but hey, considering the morons taking part in the activity, no matter what you want to call it the result is the same...its a therapy session for the hair-fire #TDS.

They are demonstrations in support of impeachment that are implicitly aimed at the conventional wisdom that the Senate is going to acquit. Be a patriot and join one.

So, yes...a collection of morons.
And funny definition of "patriot" you tote around, whereas it means one who suspends fact for emotion; claims truth is hearsay and innuendo; and promotes that guilty until proven innocent is a virtue. But I am guessing that for you it is more about taking the day off to trod around in the human feces laden streets of San Francisco....no coincidence that Pelosi is their Representative.

But yes, how dare the Senate even be imagined as acquitting an impeached President that is being impeached without the commission of single crime; was subject to a kangaroo court; and was used to cover up actual crimes by Democratic party members. But you go girl....you survived the horrors of hearing a plethora of boyfriends tell their girlfriends deeply violent thoughts.

ETA : nevermind, you're moron on this topic...amusingly arrogant as usual, but still inept to condemning proportions on this topic.

So, while listening to today's impeachment hearing, the democrats seem to be using the phrase "above the law" when referring to Trump...but that begs the question, what law(s) are the claiming Trump is above if he is not impeached?

So, the GOP wants to argue that Democrats wanted to impeach Trump all along (obviously... he's deserved it all along), and to make that case, they're saying that some Democrat members have been voting for impeachment long before the July 25th phone call... as though this somehow exonerates the President of the current charges.

Seriously... how dumb do you have to be to feel this is a strong argument? He's been a thug for ages. Of course people wanted him impeached. Sane people thought the electoral college failed to do their job in 2016 by electing him in the first place. The minority wanted the screwup. And the minority is so damned stupid, they keep calling themselves the majority. They're like a Chihuahua barking at a Great Dane.

Now we have a clear and obvious example of an abuse of power that even a moron should be able to understand, and the damned Chihuahua still doesn't get it. It's just barking its ass off because that's all it's good for.

So when 58 Democrats backed Representative Green's resolution to impeach in 2017 ? or when, in defense of "The Squad", 95 Democrats voted for his resolution to impeach in July (seasoned with the "mean tweets" from March) of this year?

But hey, since you're as equally dumb as KG on economics, and as equally ignorant as KG on how the government works, then no wonder you now want to argue that a pattern/history of behavior yesterday means guilty today....oh no. wait...that's not what you mean...or hold up, that is what you mean....nope, that's not it either...

Pelosi admits that impeachment has been sought after for +2 years...Washington Post ran an impeachment story within days of 2016 election....but, I will give you a moment to re-visit your "inner" KG and light thy hair on fire.
