I, for one, think it is completely lame and wrong to create a thread about it. Nephi did some pretty messed up things, but no need to egg the guy on, I happen to like him.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty ashamed for Momus.

For what its worth I hope Nephi's ok and I hope he posts here again. Also I'm not down on his universalism, even if I don't share it. In fact, I was thinking of asking him about something related that I read somewhere recently...

I've been on LDS related boards for years, seen quite a bit of nastiness and cruelty but I think this is the worst display of behavior I have ever seen.

I'm sickened.

I just looked at it. Holy crap. Momus is an A-hole.

Will they leave this hate fest up? I can't believe someone in charge hasn't nixed it already. Its the best bit of anti-mormonism I've ever seen. Way to go, guys...

Okay for those who want to know the whole story, here:

I had been avoiding MAD because, well, its one sided, and the mods flex their muscle to keep it that way. To me (its an opinion, people), the board tries to present itself as being an open environment, but when the thread does not go towards the Mormon point of view, the mods step in, modify posts, temp ban individuals, and many other bad things. I felt that I no longer wanted to be associated with such a board. I thought about this for quite a while (close to a month) and finally decided it would be best not to be affiliated with them.

So I asked that my account be closed. I asked the because on a previous board I frequented I left the board with my account still active. 3 months later, someone hacked my account and impersonated me, doing things such as scamming individuals, saying things I would not say, and others (this was at forums.d2jsp.org). So, to make sure this didn't happen here, I pm'd a mod asking my account be closed and locked. I got no response after 24 hours, so I posted a topic about it. I was ridiculed and told to just leave the place, and the thread was locked (no surprise there).

So, the next day, I asked again publically. That thread was just removed completely. So (thinking this is how others get removed from there), I started using profanity, posting pornographic links, and many other things. This lead to Momus creating a personal thread about me in the LDS Dialog and Discussion forum (which is against forum rules), and then pinning it (I dunno if it is still or not, I am blocked from the board).

Regardless, those are my reasons, childish or not, as to why I did what I did. I avoid the debate forums as much as possible here, as there are individuals here who turn it ugly many times here, and (again) not only do I not wish to be affiliated with this, but it just degrades the conversation into pointless babbling.

If you do find me here, you will have a better chance of finding me in the off topic forums than in here. I am under a ton of stress right now, and my cares are diminishing into nothing because of it. If I could afford counseling right now, I would go, but I cannot.

Regardless, sorry for all the drama over there. It will not spill over to here, as I believe if I were to ask my account be deleted or locked, the mods here would comply.

I don't really know Nephi enough to know whether this warrants being "sickened," but it is really childish. Has anyone heard from nephi?

Wow, that's like way beyond Ray-Cogginsland. Something must indeed be wrong. I hope he comes back here so we can at least know if he's OK.

Edit: I just saw that Momus opened a pinned thread on "Why Nephi Is a Child" asking for posters to mock Nephi. Unbelievable.

You should have just asked us for the best way to get banned:

Tell everyone that WK and/or Liz told you who the mods are.
Question DCP - for instance, ask him if he's read a certain book.
Join the KG fan club.
Call DanG an a-hole.
Call Hamblin a jerk.

The mods here won't do that for you either Nephi. You'll have to just stay away.

I wish you could find some counseling. I'm sorry you're having difficulty.
