I recommend Rachel Maddow's BagMan podcast about the Spiro Agnew crisis.

I don't know how far back this goes...I think a lot of the toxic conservatism we see was incubated in resentment during the FDR era and the harvest of hate hasn't ended since, it just mutates. Limbaugh and Co has given us what Coughlin tried and could not.

Jersey Girl, he’s the heavy that goes around punching folks in the larynx whenever they threaten to speak about Trump in less than glowing terms.

He certainly doesn’t look the part; that’s what gives him the perfect cover for the job.

I'm not sure if there will be an air-tight collusion case, where there is physical documentation that Donald Trump was involved in the orchestration. I think he was kept apprised of the orchestration by Stone, and the release of the Wikileaks documents was obviously done to benefit Trump, but I'm not sure that this is where there will be an absolute smoking gun. It's very possible that those around Trump could be charged with conspiracy, but I think Roger Stone would fall on a grenade for Trump. We shall see.

Regardless of what happens in the collusion case, it just seems like the biggest threat for Trump is now the SDNY. When a case stitches together the various illegal and criminal elements of Trump Charities, University, Insurance Fraud, Financial Fraud, Taxes, etc., the Trump Organization could be prosecuted as a criminal enterprise under the RICO act. And that is a net that would probably ensure that Don Jr., Eric, Ivanka and probably Jared would be subject to criminal prosecution.

You know what, apparently according to Christie, Kushner put the kibosh on Christie's involvement in the transition on account of the fact that Christie put daddy Kushner in prison. Ivanka's a mafia princess, right?

That would be amusing if only it weren't the truh.

A little off point here, but do you think that a guy would run for a second term for the express purpose of increasing his wealth and avoiding prison until he dies? As in facilitating the mother of all deferments.

This is assuming that the SDNY doesn't drop the hammer on his children in the mean time.

Can the SDNY indict a sitting president?

That's not the whole of his testimony that we saw. I read that he is doing 2 closed door sessions. I know he's doing one today but I don't know if that's the first or second.

One closed session the day before the open session. One the day after.

We're not discussing it at all. The last Trump related exchanges we had I ended up with a case of the smart ass. Months ago he said something about getting a MAGA hat for himself. I asked him if he intended to wear it out of the house. When he said yes, I asked if it wouldn't be easier if I just painted a bullseye on his forehead. One day he mentioned "Trump haters" and I said it must be really uncomfortable for him to live with one.

I'm sure he's discussing the current events with someone. Just not with me.
