Trump's official plan, summarized by USA Today:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/pol ... 439445007/
As released by Republicans themselves:

https://rncplatform.donaldjtrump.com/

This whole thing reads like a student government wish list written by a team of 9th graders.

Which fits Trump perfectly. As I said, his plan is made in crayon. Or sharpie, whatever he used to draw in his own hurricane path.

I've seen allusions to "stage managers" who would presumably be forcing Trump to adopt Project 2025. You guys know Trump couldn't even be bothered to read his daily national security briefings, right? Who exactly is going to be stage managing him?
Why do you think reading is a prerequisite for being stage managed? It’s possible for Trump to implement Project 2025 without ever reading it.

My comment about stage managing is based on the fact that, after substantial effort by his campaign managers and reversed his position on voting by mail in order to attempt to capture the votes of young black and Latinos who haven’t voted in the past. The campaign managers have pretty clearly convinced him to change his tune to try and capture the votes he needs in addition to those from his base. That’s why we see a young woman on stage gushing about how Trump loves gays. And the head of the teamsters speaking at the nominating convention of a strongly anti-labor President.

It will be interesting to see if he can stay on script to attract those non-base voters or whether he’ll revert to form.

My bet is on Trump always going off doing his own thing. It’s the one thing that made his first presidency bearable, and I don’t think Republicans can change that no matter how much they want to.

About half a million Americans died directly due to Trump's mishandling of the pandemic. Hard to tell them Trump doing his own thing was "bearable."

You don't remember the pandemic? You don't remember Trump saying early on that "it'll just go away?" which gave him the excuse he needed to do nothing?

You’re saying every death from COVID in America was preventable by Trump if he had acted differently?

The simple fact that he said this is jaw-droppingly bizarre. Hey, people are dying, but . . . "it'll go away!"
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”
