Not the party that is suggested 7 trillion in new deficit spending in the short term.
Indeed. The idea that Republicans are fiscally responsible is pure propaganda.

Rather than sending our tax dollars to Tanzania, shouldn't those dollars have been used to pay down the deficit?
We can say that about anything, like defense budgets, cancer research, school lunch programs or Social Security, if merely paying down the deficit is the goal.
Is giving away money to Tanzania as beneficial to the taxpayers as the programs you listed?

Study after study show that the economy performs better during democrat administrations, and that the democrats engage in less deficit spending.

Too many americans are still believing in the lie of "trickle down economics".

Both parties are to blame. We have debt that is in the $Trillions and both parties and their penchant for empire got us to where we are now. It's time to think of future generations, tighten the belt and pay down the debt or do some sort of default and live with the consequences. We simply don't have the luxury of spending on bribes to increase our soft power and the militaristic aspirations of both parties.

It's also time to trace every dollar spent and root out the misfeasance and malfeasance if there is any and I suspect there is. This is why I like the DOGE concept. It's only been a little over a month, it needs to look everywhere, especially at the DOD and the various black budgets and make drastic cuts. Let's see if it follows through on the hype. And the democrats should join in the work, making sure the Republican drunken spending gets reigned in too. For every DEI spending project, there is probably some unnecessary republican project that needs to be axed.

Dollar for dollar, every dollar spent on diplomacy and development — the growth of democratic institutions or at least civil institutions in countries that allow their leadership to be sensitive to the needs of their citizens — are immensely more effective … than having to deploy soldiers, sailors, airmen or marines to a crisis where we have to fix a problem...” ~General Paul Selva

Where has DOGE found actual misfeasance and malfeasance?

It amounts to 3 cents out of my pocket. There’s nothing that I can buy in the United States for that, and I could probably find that much on the ground on any given day. Yet what that contributes to within this program has much more humanitarian value than can be realized in my own hometown.

I’d say that it’s worth it.

I’m generally a little cynical about this kind of thing. I doubt America giving Tanzania financial aid is an act of altruism. It won’t be simply giving money away. There’ll be some return on that investment - even if it’s not a return for the country as a whole. Somebody, somewhere, is benefitting from giving Tanzania money. Maybe someone has found obtaining mining rights a little easier or something.

Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

It's been a little more than a month. You have to give it a little more time before you declare defeat, otherwise, you look too partisan. However, here is the site and you can judge for yourself, or the lurkers can: https://www.DOGE.gov/

Like I said in my post, I hope it works but of course there needs to be verification and the democrats should stop bitching and join in with the search for malfeasance/misfeasance. I hope we don't want stupid spending to continue just because the messenger is someone we don't like. There is a great opportunity for the democrats to call out stupid spending on the republican side. I hope that happens, but I doubt it will.

Here is an issue democrats should rally around: 1st amendment

Trump is pushing for the jailing of people who protest Israel and their apartheid ways: https://www.commondreams.org/opinion/tr ... protesters

We need to get rid of the power a certain country has over all of our politicians and perhaps if DOGE did its job we would see how aid makes a round trip into the pockets of those that serve certain interests. Maybe it'll stop if we act together.
