So, spraying suntan lotion on yourself will now be a federal offense?Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 3:09 pmSpeaking of the torpids among us who seem determined to destroy that which they don’t understand, in response to Dump and DOGE gutting the National Weather Service, which had a directed correlation to 57+ people (27 girls amongst them) dying we get this instead:

If it's stupid and outrageous, it will definitely work on Trump's base. It's sanity that fails to move them.Chap wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 8:31 pmI suppose the purpose of the bill in question is to give MAGAs the idea that the collapse of the climate system is not caused by years of burning fossil fuels, but by those awful people who are squirting stuff into the atmosphere to do 'weather modification and geoengineering'.
It will probably work.
My father was an old school Trilateral Commission or New World Order conspiracy theorist:Some Schmo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 8:31 pmWhen a Trump voter claims they love America, I conclude one of two things going on:
Trump voters clearly don't love the American system of government. They don't love immigrants (apparently never having read the message under the Statue of Liberty). They don't love Democrats. They don't love freedom of speech (or simply don't understand the concept at all). They don't love protecting citizens from ubiquitous guns (thinking they love the "freedom" to own a gun, never thinking about the freedom to feel safe walking into public events). Listening to the average Trump voter, you'd think we live in Venezuela with how terrible it all is, until they get the moronic President they want. Then they go into feel-good mode, which is easy, because they live in a fantasy world, and suddenly ignore all the government corruption they whined about 6 months ago.
- They're lying. That's the Occam's Razor answer.
- They are talking about love in the same sense as "love at first sight." Love at first sight is love of an illusion, because they don't know the true nature of the love object when they first meet them. They love their fantasy of that person, not the real person underneath.
Now that I've written this, it occurs to me that both things are going on. They lie to themselves and everyone else easily because they're ignorant about the true nature of their country, preferring their fantasy version instead. They're likely the type of people who use the idiotic phrase, "my truth."
Yep, and not only that, these idiots are dumb enough to think everyone else will suffer except them.Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Sat Jul 12, 2025 4:58 pmThese “F” faces don’t understand that when you start going down this road it doesn’t reverse course without a lot of pain.

The following MAGA action reported by Doc Cam, is about as far from loving America as it could be.These three Texas democrats have a spine and a simple, well articulated argument. The media wasn't ready for either. Kudos to these three for standing up for *everyone*.
" If your not willing to lose the job to do the job, that's not public service." Well said young lady...well said.
“Fled” is not an accurate description. They left to protect democracy.
Stop saying “flee”. Call it a walkout to prevent an illegal action. “Flleeing” implies a hectic running away. This was a calculated boycott.
I am a Texas resident whose state representative has broken quorum, and I couldn't be more proud of her for it. The proposed maps would slice up my city into multiple tiny shreds of districts, literally cut through neighborhoods, that they can mix with hundreds of miles of rural communities with whom I share very little in terms of economic or cultural interests. The change would disregard the principle of local representation that our founders intended, is clearly intended to prevent black and Latino people from having representatives in Congress, and would almost certainly cause my congressional representative to lose their seat.
In my opinion, if this change goes through, then the congressional delegation from Texas will be illegitimate. And if Abbot tries to vacate my state representative's seat, he will have another thing coming.
I’m a Republican and I disagree with this redistricting. I applaud these Democrats for standing up for what’s right.
I am a man, born and raised in Texas, graduated from high school there, decades ago. Now i live closer to the Pacific Ocean, which I "fell in Love with" years ago, and stayed here, enjoying the ability to be closer to more reasonable people who stand for kindness, instead of hate. I have friends and family in Texas there whom i dearly love, and would visit more often if it weren't for the kinds of attitudes there represented by the current Texan and USA "governments" . I totally support these three brave and courageous human beings and their colleagues doing the right thing by using their jobs to call attention to the injustice which is on display in the above-mentioned areas. Their clarity, and dedication to the common good is inspiring and AWESOME.
James Talarico is a real one. I’ve been saying he should run for president for years.
this is the energy we need. these lawmakers are doing exactly what their constituents voted them in for. they're not letting a state run away with the rule of law and are exercising their right by their state constitution. these democrats are doing exactly, what needs to be done and the country should be proud of them for standing up for the rule of law and the sanctity of democracy. these are not normal times and republicans are clearly shamelessly trying to usher in an age of authoritarianism
Let us get this point straight: it is unconstitutional to redistrict and reapportion House seats prior to a decennial census in accordance with Article 1, Section 2 of the United States Constitution.
