The Covid-19 relief legislation was passed by Congress on Monday and was flown to Mar-a-Lago on Thursday to await Trump's signature. But after sitting on the sidelines during the negotiations, Trump emerged with an eleventh-hour complaint that a separate provision in the deal, which the President's own White House helped broker, would only provide up to $600 in direct payments. Trump wanted to send out $2,000 checks.

Is a damned lie. He didn't want to send out 2K checks to people. He wanted people to BELIEVE that he wanted to. People danced in the street when he lost the election. He's now exacting revenge on them in the most cruel ways possible except for actually letting people DIE from his abject neglectful lack of response to human needs regarding the pandemic.

I'd like to say that I hope that SDNY bags his ass but the truth is, that just like he stalled on the election outcomes, he'll drag all of that through the courts in the same way for the exact same reasons and he'll try to do it for the rest of his miserable shitbag life.

Apparently there will be a separate bill on Monday that will increase the individual relief checks to 2K so long as it passes the House/Senate as expected.

I mean, it’s not all bad. I’m having six 4’ x 8’ garden boxes built at my SIL’s place next week. It’s $3k and it includes liners and dirt. Thanks to the stimulus bill it’ll be, what, $1800 if my wife and I get checks?

I’m surprised no one seems to be concerned about inflation, though. It’s already pretty noticeable for this fiscal year. I guess we’ll see.

What I hate is the jerking around of the American people, some of whom belong to me. Not the people that live here around us. If push came to shove, we'd open the Bank of Jersey. It's some of our people back East who if they listened to selective broadcasts over the past few days, I know good and goddamn well are in tears as I write this.

As I understand it now...like I understand any of this...the House will vote on a bill this coming Monday or Tuesday that will increase individual payments to 2K per, then it's also expected to pass in the Senate because Trump got into the middle of it.

The problem is the jerking around.

I listened to several clips today regarding Trump signing the bill. I had to dig good and deep (gardening ref) to find the rest of the story. How many other people are not finding the rest of the story? The thing is that we rely on the media to tell us what a 5 thousand plus page bill says and the media is not telling the full story.

Anyway, the raised beds sound good. I wish we could do that. If we did, we'd have to put like 6-8ft high chain link around them and some kind of roof that would hold the hail cloth. I guess you don't have deer right where you life. Do you guys get the crazy hail like we do?

I don't consider anything Trump does to be rational. Everything he does looks like an emotional (and irrational) reaction to the news. He's losing his mind because he knows his financial business is being investigated and he's no longer going to have the President shield. He's flailing like you'd expect from a terrified douche bag.

Looks as though Trump finally caved and signed the COVID19 Relief Bill over the weekend, providing meager one time cash for those making under $75K, much needed additional funding for unemployment benefits, extending the ban on evictions, and avoiding a government shutdown.

I remember Cinepro mentioning that inflation would run wild if the minimum wage was raised to $7.50/hr. We are surrounded by financial landmines.
