Logic Express 8 is $200. The more expensive versions of Logic come with a lot more plug-ins and instruments, but the functionality is identical. It took me a while to make the purchase because I've been able to do quite a bit with Garageband. Logic has more functionality, but you can still make great sounding recordings in Garageband. Logic can use all the instruments and plug-ins that you currently have in Garageband.

I love the House of Blues at the Mandalay Bay, that is one of my favorite places to see a show, although I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I saw Static-X there. that's when I realized I was too old to be there. Whole floor was a pit.

They’ve offered us 3 different nights (the 17th, 24th, and 31st). We haven’t decided which night(s) we will take. Probably the 17th, and maybe the 24th too. I’ll let you know once we decide. It should be free since it’s Crossroads (every time I’ve gone to Crossroads, it’s been free).

LOL. I don’t know if I can bring chicks, but I’ll bring Jabba (my sax). Maybe lay down a couple little ditties that you can use as samples for loops later on.
I still haven’t decided what program I’m going to get. I wish they weren’t so damn expensive, or at least offered trial versions. Hopefully I’ll make it to Guitar Center next weekend and be able to chat it up with some of those peeps (hopefully the hombres in the software/keyboard section aren’t as dumb as the people in the other sections).

Re: Silentkid's New Guitar
New toy (just ordered today... doesn't have as good of an SNR as I'd like [at least it has Phantom power], but I just needed something cheap to get me by):

Nice, Steuss. Good stuff. You'll have to email me some of your recordings. I'd like to hear them. I haven't recorded anything for a couple of months. Pain and vicodin will sap your will.

I'm sorry you're having a rough go at life. Bummer. I hope you feel better soon my brother.
We kind of decided that we were tired of being at the mercy of the label/studio as far as recording goes. It seems that as we have evolved, our state of recording has stayed a snapshot of the past (if that makes sense). So, we (i.e. I) took matters into hand and got the fixings for some quick demo quality recordings.
I ended up picking the credit card up once more and bought a pencil condenser mic as well (needed something for recording the drums from overhead…). Hopefully I’ll have something to share with you within a month or two (*fingers crossed*); and hopefully you will have something to share as well.
Now if I can only figure out how to slave Reason to Sonar…
