Take a look at the Green Party. Not that I agree with them all the time, but they are closer to my politics than the two major ones.

Thank you and I'll read through that, and consider it.

I started out a registered Democrat and then over the years switched to Rep. No matter what party I was registered with, I almost always crossed party lines in my voting history. I do think I'd be better off going unaffiliated. I have a cynical streak that won't quit and largely because time and experience has taught me to despise organizations.

They can shove it. I'm done.

The Independents in this country are growing by the day. This is the main reason I consider July 4th "Independents Day."

I used to switch my registration every election cycle till the Republicans and Democrats went crazy. Now I just vote for whomever I think will do the better job.

That's who I really am in my head, Schmo. My registration may as well reflect that.

I hate being labeled. I hate being part of an organization where people think you should let them think for you. I hate being part of something that let's others define you. That's why I have almost never voted a straight party line in my life.

Voting for whomever I think will do the better job is exactly what I've always done.

Jersey Girl:

Here in California we went to an open primary. It makes no sense to belong to any political now.

It seems to me that if you value loyalty, it can get you into real trouble if you let others do your thinking for you. Right now, we have a GOP that doesn't question what the White House is doing, and it's leading to all kinds of problems. A great number are loyal to party over country, and they justify it with talking points gleaned from "conservative" radio.

I was talking to a friend at work today and he said of his Republican friends, "They've set the bar so low. They admit Drumpf is terrible, but at least they got the Supreme Court pick."

Well isn't that just great... while we're still a semi-democratic country, anyway. What happens when Drumpf tries to disempower the courts?

Kevin,

Forgive me if I don't have any real desire to have an exchange with you about any of this. I am of the opinion that your political stances/opinions/offerings, at least in part, are a glaring example that illustrates the deep and many problems that this country currently faces on the political front.

Yes, they can ALL shove it! (Is how I feel)

During the election - when we were down to Hillary Clinton and Donal Trump - I remember feeling like I was out in limbo somewhere, floating in the wind - having no voice and no representation.

While it was very hard for me to swallow the ridiculous tweets and the extraordinarily unprofessional manner that our President was engaging in while in this office, I worked very hard to work around that and forced myself to give him a chance and, like I do for every elected President (No matter their political affiliation) I was hopeful for sound leadership and American representation for all of the citizens of this great country.

"Make America Great Again" - Sounds like an utterly ridiculous slogan at this point!

An American citizen (in this case Hillary Clinton - who has served this country, no matter what your personal feelings are of her) was the topic of a meeting of American citizens and ties to the Russian government. That's flat out unacceptable to me.

This recent debacle has crossed the line for me - I can no longer support our President - I am also done!

Peace,
Ceeboo
