As I said - rule of law is an important concept. If that puts me on the outs with conservatives, then I’m not concerned with their opinion of that decision.

Why do we continue to use the word conservative? In the hopes of guilting these people back to their senses? I think that is a lost cause. These people are radicals seeking to place us all under their thumb in an authoritarian regime. Hound may be many things, but, make no mistake, in a very real sense he is the enemy of every person who cherishes our Constitutional Republic. He wants us to live in Trump's authoritarian nightmare.

That’s a fair point, especially considering that I’m the product of a politically ultra-conservative upbringing and still lean fiscally ‘right’.

Unfortunately, the modern conservative movement seems determined to trudge further down the path of hysterical nativism and the advancement of unconstitutional behavior as long as it serves their immediate desires, which sometimes appear at odds with our Constitution. I’m not sure how else to refer to the collection of folks driving that bus but am open to suggestions. Maybe ‘MAGA’ by itself is more accurate. I personally see ‘broke’ as a good description of their morals and mindset, but I lack the national influence to get the rest of Normal America exposed to that option. : )

MAGA extremists is a good term. They are extremists. They are radicals. But they must be distinguished from other extremists and radicals in some way for the sake of clarity. MAGA extremists works nicely. Broke is clever, but it is too easily flipped.

Actually, you don’t seem to be in command of ‘the facts’.

It won't be the first time for Hound to mangle basic facts about a case while speaking authoritatively and putting on airs. This is a MAGA purity test, by the way, and Hound is passing with flying colors.

He's also wrong to pit the normie gripe as a culture war over the sanctity of illegal aliens and gang members, as all that is secondary to the problem of lawlessness. And here's where his problem is. Being okay with the cold rule of law even when it destroys lives for little to no benefit isn't enough for MAGA. Anytime a judge blocks Trump on something, MAGA calls for the impeachment of the Judge, or goes on an X posting spree about how judges aren't installed by the people and Trump has a mandate that essentially makes him a dictator and puts him above the courts.

The only way to cater to MAGA is by essentially joining MAGA as Hound has done.
