This is going in an odd direction. Entertaining, but weird. Like “I’ll be needing to see the results of that background investigation” weird, all because shotguns might have a kick.

Cam certainly sounds like a veteran, at least to me. General contempt for officers, surly disposition covering a heart of gold, and abrupt gallows humor check three of the “yeah this guy is probably a veteran” boxes.

If I'm shooting 3.5" magnum rounds without a recoil pad I might feel it. A bit more than a mosquito hitting my shoulder but generally I'm holding my sawed-off down at my waist. I'm sure a .410 leaves a bruise on hound -- kick is relative.

Ice Cube seems to think a shotgun is best for close-quarters combat. I think he'd know. Also, test it out in Doom or Counter Strike, it's pretty obvious.

No, he doesn't! And he definitely doesn't sound like he's 1st sfod-delta like he told Jersey Girl he was.

Him claiming delta and then saying a shotgun doesn't kick and you don't have to aim is like a pit mechanic at Daytona saying race cars don't need brakes because they go so fast you just steer!

I do like me my weird directions.

This one’s prompted by Hound’s assertion that Doc’s “statements about weapons almost conclusively proves he wasn't” in the military. I’d like to determine the specifics of Hound’s possible military experience and expertise that would support that statement. So far there’s no meat given and too much milk, and it’s skim, at that.

For the record, I’d say that there are plenty of shotguns with a kick. And there are models with much less so than others. Then we can toss in the many variables exhibited by both shotgun and shooter. Certainly, it’s fascinating watching someone spend a few days and several dozen posts trying to disparage another person based on a statement made 10 years ago about whether or not shotguns have a kick.

Who knows what juicy crime will be revealed next. : )
