Huh. I was wondering what this Stonetoss cartoon was all about:
For any Conservatives who happen to be reading this thread, and who don’t have the attention span of a gnat, I recommend reading this information page from the CDC:
SALT LAKE CITY — Intermountain Healthcare on Friday reported that ICUs and acute care units in its hospitals have exceeded 100% capacity as Utah's COVID cases spike.
The impact of spiking COVID cases in Utah is beginning to take a toll on Utah’s hospitals and caregivers.
On Thursday, the Utah Department of Health again reported a large number of new COVID cases – 1,243 – with hospitalizations continuing to rise.
Intermountain Healthcare reported Friday that their ICUs have reached 102 percent and 100 percent in acute care units.
Boy, I sure hope people stopped getting cancer to make room for Roy from Roy who refused to take the vaccine.
Joseph having sex with many women, cheats on Emma with Fanny in the barn, the 100+ billion slush fund, the blatant errors of the Book of Mormon, the lies about evolution, the racism towards blacks, the sexism, the shaming of normal sexual behaviors, the ever-changing doctrine (Adam-God, blood atonement), the second anointing in the temple only for those who pay a lot of tithing or are leaders….
All of THAT you don’t bat an eye at.
Yet the first presidency strongly URGES you to get a vaccine that was 100 percent developed and began rolling out under Trump and has been largely rolled out under Biden and has been proven to be very safe and effective by thousands of expert doctors and scientists.
And that's what breaks your shelf? Really??
I seriously am so frustrated with the MLM essential oil people and conspiracy theorists all throughout Utah and hope that this simple statement by the men who supposedly speak to god face to face (a very late one at that) does a lot of damage to church loyalty.
I saw a news clip yesterday of a bunch of moronic anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers protesting at the Salt Lake county, uh, county building. They were praying, singing the national anthem, pledging allegiance to the flag, and all sorts of other weird crap like grown men crying, literally crying, because *patriotism*.
They don’t need the Mormon church. They have a stronger faith in the GQP.
I knew this would happen. You couldn't pay me enough. The children are watching, you outrageous idiot. You breached their safe space and turned it into a street brawl. Nice going, "Dad".
A California teacher is hospitalized after he's allegedly attacked by a parent over face masks on the first day of school
(CNN)An elementary school teacher in Northern California was hospitalized after being attacked by a parent during a verbal argument over the use of face masks, the district superintendent said.
The sixth grade teacher was stitched up at the hospital for cuts and lacerations to his face sustained in a physical fight between a parent and the school's principal on the campus of Sutter Creek Elementary School, about 45 miles east of Sacramento, Torie Gibson, Superintendent of Amador County Unified School District told CNN.
"I absolutely will not tolerate violence," Gibson vowed, calling the lack of respect for educators during this pandemic, "baffling."
On Wednesday, the parent arrived about 30-45 minutes after school hours to pick up his daughter who was in the school office with the principal. Both the girl and the principal were wearing face coverings, as mandated by a statewide health order, Gibson said.
According to Gibson, the parent caught a glimpse of several vaccinated educators across the hall in the teachers' lounge not wearing masks and became angry. Teachers are allowed to remove masks in the company of other vaccinated educators, according to a California directive.
After a verbal argument between the student's father and the principal over masks, in which the parent allegedly called the situation a "conspiracy" and claimed children "are being treated like animals," the parent left the campus.
A short time later he returned without his daughter and again engaged in an argument with the principal, Gibson said. When the situation escalated, a male teacher stepped in to try to settle the dad down, but a physical fight ensued.
Sutter Creek Police officers were called to the scene and were told it was a "disturbance between a parent and a staff member concerning COVID-19 procedures and facial maskings."
The student's father was not arrested at the scene, but police are investigating.
Police did not immediately respond to CNN requests for additional comment.
"As sad as it is, I'm not shocked this happened. People are tired of mandates and being told what to do," said Gibson, adding that she respects parents who advocate for their children.
Gibson sent a letter to parents on Thursday regarding the situation and said that, "assaulting a staff member will never be tolerated on any school campus, and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent" of the law.
"Remember, we are not the ones making the rules/mandates," she wrote. "We are the ones required to follow/enforce them if we want to keep the doors open and the students at school five days a week."
The district has not publicly identified the parent but is seeking a restraining order against him that would prevent him from stepping foot on the school campus, while still allowing him to remain in his car to pick his child up from school.
Even more parental idiocy. When your children start hitting and spitting on each other in class, don't come running to me, okay?
What ever happened to the concept of, oh I dunno, calling for a meeting? You know, like adults.
Parents clash at mask mandate protest in Georgia county where 5th graders were sent home
Marietta, Georgia (CNN)Tense confrontations, yelling and accusations of spitting were seen Thursday as parents gathered for a protest over mask mandates at a school district office near Atlanta.
The protests come a day after fifth graders at East Side Elementary in Cobb County were sent home because of high numbers of Covid-19 cases, according to a school district email sent to parents and obtained by CNN.
Protesters shouted chants over one another.
"You are not my kid's parent, no more mandates," one person shouted. "No more masks, these are my kids, not yours."
Parents also chanted "Mandate masks," "Protect our kids," "Educate the ignorant" and "No more masks." Signs read "My child, my choice," "Why hide this cute face?" and "I love all children so we mask up to save them."
At one point, two people -- a masked man and unmasked woman -- got into a yelling match. The woman accused the man of spitting on her and the man accused the woman of hitting him in the mouth.
Masks are optional for students and school staff in Cobb County, according to the district's website, but guidance calls for social distancing in classrooms when possible.
The protest and clashes in Cobb County are just one example illustrating the debate across the country with parents at odds with government officials over requiring students and teachers to wear masks.
How schools should handle Covid-19 protocols has been a divisive issue across the country. School districts, parents, health departments and state officials are grappling with how to return students to classrooms safely at a time when the Delta variant is driving a surge in cases across the country and younger students are still unable to be vaccinated.
Other Atlanta-area school districts -- in Gwinnett County, Fulton County and the city of Atlanta -- require masks for students and staff.
The disconnect among parents, health officials and school districts in Georgia is further complicated because Gov. Brian Kemp signed an executive order preventing schools from using the state's public health emergency as a basis for mask mandates, and declining to issue state guidance, saying the decision should be left up to parents.
Ed Yong of the Atlantic has done stellar reporting on COVID-19 throughout the pandemic. His latest piece on how the pandemic ends given the delta variant is well worth reading. https://Twitter.com/edyong209/status/14 ... 43586?s=21
he/him we all just have to live through it,
holding each other’s hands.
You know, I skimmed through the link to LDS Freedom forum ttribe provided by your sisters and brothers in the real reality over there, and like one of our new participants over here, they were linking to right-wing summaries of otherwise legitimate research that are misrepresentations of that research. I didn't see any appeals to some of the outright quacks. So I'm really curious what you're using for justification.

How do you know? I mean, for a medical guy, you sure extrapolate a whole lot from your own personal experiences. How is it relevant at all that you were asymptomatic? My friend's son right now is growing weaker at home after being ejected from the hospital with viral pneumonia (Covid). fiftyish guy; kind of a tough guy. Believes Covid is a hoax. Suppose he could go back into time. Should he get vaccinated or not?

That's not possible. Ajax and his colleagues at the vision clinic tested positive and didn't get symptoms.
