So I'm getting different answers here. Res Ipsa says that vaccines aren't 100% effective. Well even if they're 90% effective Covid isn't much worse than the flu. It's certainly not bad enough to continue shutdows as they're doing in New Zealand.

Jersey Girl says that not everyone had the opportunity to be vaccinated.

And Gad says the vaccines work but it's my responsibility to convince people of this while at the same time telling vaccinated people they still need to mask up lest they spread the virus to other vaccinated people in pandemic proportions.

I've said nothing of your responsibility. I'm just curious as hell about your preferences. You'd rather let your otherwise ideological brothers and sisters believe nonsense that will lead to many of their deaths, rather than correct them. Why not be a voice of reason amongst your people -- why not be like Mitch McConnel? Maybe your willingness to speak what you know is the truth will have a good effect. We have some new folks on this forum who look up to you a great deal. Who knows, maybe your influence could lead to somebody getting the vaccine who otherwise wouldn't.

Well, on the one hand, you have me, with "older white anti-communist Republican voters" in my neighborhood that I speak with nearly daily. I've consistently corrected their misguided ideas they get from Fox and other sources on the virus, masks, and the vaccine. I don't think that my insistence alone has led to pretty good choices on their parts overall and neither have caught the virus yet, but there are times where I feel it's contributed. One of the guys getting his second shot very likely did have something to do with correcting a covid conspiracy text he got from his nephew that had really disturbed him.

On the other hand we have you, who has flat-out said that your "older, white anti-communist Republican voter" aren't worth disagreeing with to promote the vaccine (which you believe works), nor should you and your kids wear masks to protect them. They've made their choice, you say, and so let them die if that's the result.

I'd say in both action and words that between the two of us, it is you is who is more okay with letting the "older, white anti-communist Republican voters" die in their ignorance.

All who are still spreading anti-vax and anti-mask disinformation are not much better than accessories to manslaughter, and approaching approximately the same level of intellectual and cognizant disfunction and/or dishonesty as flat-earthers.
