Damn, if that isn't true about us, I don't know what is.

Re: Roe on the Chopping Block
My right-wing friend is a huge pro-lifer and born again. If there is one topic that makes him angrier than all others, it's abortion. I always remind him that by his own accounts, he's a career womanizer and pervert. No man with his profile has ever really cared whether a woman gets an abortion, and most right-wing men who are outspoken about abortion are more like him than not. Now, he might care that a woman had sex with a man that wasn't him, and demand she pay the metaphorical consequences. But any one of them will rush their escorts or girlfriends to a clinic without a second thought, if it's they themselves who are in trouble.
There are women who are legitimately pro-life, on the other hand, meaning, there are many women who are pro-life for reasons other than spite. I think they are wrong, but I do think they are sincere. Although I agree with Cam, if they say it's murder; that's hyperbole.
My right-wing friend will sometimes change his tune when he realizes his general characterization of women as sex objects affords him zero credibility on the subject, and admit that he can understand why people think a woman has the right to choose, and then he'll say the real travesty is government paying for the abortion. He shouldn't have to pay for it. So he's very angry with Planned Parenthood.
I then tell him that if in one the many conversations that gets too personal with folks on the walking path, including young women, he learns that a young women is pregnant, scared of parents, and doesn't know what to do, that he will most likely refer her to Planned Parenthood without hesitation. He's also been a vocal opponent of #metoo; they're all lying etc. But when an incident suddenly arose broadly within his family, he went straight to Child Protective Services and the police, and any government institution that would listen to him; all based only on a accusation without any other evidence.

I don’t rant and rave about either one. I watched one Backyard Professor because he asked for feedback. I’ve never listened to RFM and never saw the livestream you’re talking about. I don’t get information from YouTubers.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:44 pmKinda like Mormon Stories or Mormon Discussionscanpakes wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:28 pm
No, it allows the reader to link to an opinion that could be complete B.S. and posted by anyone who can type well enough to upload a video.
The crazy homeless person on the street corner ranting on about space aliens and anal probes is still babbling about B.S., whether or not if done to a single passerby, or filmed and uploaded to YouTube for a thousand other people to watch.. But up in the terrestrial you guys rant and rave about those two You Tube channels. Oh! How bout the nutty professor, oooops I meant the backyard professor, why is he on You Tube? How bout RFM! You guys were orgasmic up in the terrestrial when RFM was live streaming on Shawn McCraney's You Tube channel. But some how, here you are condemning me for posting YouTube videos. No, I think you're upset because my links show the Progressive hypocrisy that's spewed on here everyday!!
If you think these YouTubers are making great arguments, then make the arguments. I’m not going to waste my time watching hours of video of people who I’m not having a discussion with, when it takes about a minute to find and spam links. I’m not going to do your homework. If you understand the videos that you’ve linked, you should be able to present the arguments yourself.
Which reminds me — so why is it reasonable to draw a line between two living cells of 23 chromosomes each and the same two cells after merging into a single cell of 46 chromosomes through a natural process called meiosis?

I tell ya what. When posters like Schmo, Doc, Gad and a bunch of others stop viewing conservatives as a monolithic body as opposed to unique individuals with a vast array of ideas, I'll stop pushing back and happily stop using the word PROGRESSIVE 50x a day on this forum.Xenophon wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 9:07 pmThis is another pretty solid example of you choosing to view this forum as some monolithic body as opposed to unique individuals with a vast array of ideas. The two forums are fairly distinct with only a couple of posters being engaged on both fronts. There is also a significant difference between viewing a Youtube channel from a poster here with a long and prolific history of excellent and thoughtful posting and a link to some rando with little to no description backing it up.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:44 pmKinda like Mormon Stories or Mormon Discussions. If you think it’s off topic then report it and one of will take a look. Or just post here why you think it’s off topic.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 9:22 pmAm I the only one reading this thread that realizes I now have all three moderators engaging me in a discussion that's 100% off topic and not pertinent to the original thread discussion? Re: Roe on the Chopping Block
Or maybe you could put on your big boy pants and make your arguments instead of posting links. Look, you've been kvetching for months now about how mean people here are to conservatives. So, I've treated you in this thread straight up like I treat anyone whose ideas I disagree with: I make my arguments. And you do nothing to defend or even support your position. You hide behind you tubers and do everything possible to distract from the actual subject under discussion.
Pancakes and I have challenged you on the substance of the arguments that you chose to post here. If you can't be bothered to take the time to explain and defend your own arguments, why should I give any consideration to them at all?
