You have to admit, this has absolutely HUGE application possibilities. To name one, limb replacement. Let alone the possibility of remote robotic surgery by a specialist 1/2 the world away, military applications, industrial work, highrisk work, or even long term possibilities like that in the anime ghost in the shell.

Seriously though, this isn't really that big a deal. It's a development of a techonolgy that's been in the works for a while now.
