I received an email message from PayPal that stated in part:
We recently received a report of unauthorized credit card use associated with this account.
What the heck does that mean?
Anyone else have this happen?

It's probably phishing - someone trying to get you to enter your personal information in a re-directed website to rip off your identity.
If you'd like to PM me the full email (if that doesn't work, you could PM me for my email address), I can take a look, if you'd like.

skippy,
10 days prior to this email message, I got an "alert" message from Bank of America saying that there was "irregular check card activity" on my account.
I don't even USE Bank of America!
Does that lead you to believe that too, is phishing?

Yes it is.
I get those all the time.
A good rule to live by: Never go to a site by clicking on the link provided in the email. Just open a new browser, and type in the url of the actual site.

I'm hoping that one of these days law enforcement will figure out a good way to use fake identities to help track phishers kinda like how the bank uses dye bombs to mark bills and theives who rob them.
Scamming the scammers is phun to do
Phun to do
To do to do
