I'm taking PP's advice and ordering a Mac next week!

Yay!

With the educational discount, I'm able to afford the Macbook I have been putting off getting.

I'm excited!

:)

Love my Mac. I'm getting a Macbook too to work on while traveling.

I've been a little reluctant about transitioning over to a Mac because I've always worked on a PC. I'm Microsoft certified.

But, I'm just so frustrated with Microsoft's operating systems, I could scream!

Since I'm doing the music studio, there is a ton of music software for Mac that really interests me.

And, the Macbook that I'm ordering has Microsoft Office for Mac pre-installed, so I can still send documents back and forth as needed.

Everyone I have talked to who owns a Mac say that they would NEVER go back to an IBM PC.

Hell, after using Linux for 3 years, I didn't want to go back to Windows.

I absolutely LOVE my Macbook Pro. I'd been a PC user since high school, and there's no chance in hell I'd go back. When my last Windows laptop died earlier this year, I had the freedom to get whatever I wanted (since I'm an independent consultant working from my home office, for the first time I didn't need to integrate with any established system). And it ROCKS. It interfaces nicely with the other PCs in the house for file sharing, etc. And not a single crash or blue screen of death. I'll never go back.

See? This is what I've heard! Thanks for confirming!

I'm kind of in the same boat. Since I teach Microsoft classes, I've kind of been relegated into that role. But since I'm branching out into business for myself, I have a little bit more flexibility. What sold me on the Mac is that it does have the Microsoft software installed, so if I still need to do file sharing with people from work, I can still do that.

OK, Mac should pay us for free advertising! LOL

I'm counting the days. I have to wait until cycle cut hits on my AMEX card(September 2nd) so I have until October to pay for it. ;)

Sigh.....I wish I had a new laptop cord and connector would work....that's all I want is for my laptop cord to work. I have to jam it in and shove it up against the wall so that the thing will stay in. Although my computer actually working is a big step up from it's dead virus filled previous life.

And I need a new uh PC too....I mean the big computer (not the laptop....I guess desktop is the term)....my old one is 4 years old and still works remarkably well....but I was in Best Buy the other day and was basically drooling over the new computers.

I'm actually planning on using the mac as both a desktop and a laptop. It will be my main computer.

What kind of laptop do you have? You may want to try calling the company. You can probably order a new chord from them. You also may be able to find something compatible at Best Buy. It's worth talking to someone to find out.

If you keep using the laptop like that, you're going to end up frying your motherboard if something short-circuits. BACK UP YOUR WORK!

OK...I'm through with my geeky "Mom" lecture now. LOL
