Mother of the Bride on FRIDAY! Ladies HELP! Techies HELP!

Post by _Jersey Girl »

Here's the story...I've been asked (today) to act as stand-in Mother of the Bride on Friday. It's a court house wedding. Do you have any ideas on how to make it more special for the couple? How to make it special for the actual Mom who won't be there? Should we film it? What can we do with technology? I've never been to a courthouse wedding before! How does it work? Does someone need to give the Bride "away"?

I've got the old/new/borrowed/blue covered.

Any ideas?

What is the tradition of the bride?
And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time
And lost in space...and meaning

I think the father hands her off on an "as is" basis without need for warranty, assuming the new owner will give her a good home.

Do you, or someone in the bride or groom's family own a digital camera? You could film the actual ceremony so the Mother of the Bride could view it later. It would also be a nice keepsake for the bride and groom.

I am not fond of courthouse weddings. I think there are better ways to get married on the cheap. Anyway...

Make sure that when pictures are made that they're close cropped if it's not very nice decor. If it's a beautiful day and a lovely courthouse take some pictures out on the lawn.

Hmm... What are you going to wear Jersey Girl? Are the bride and groom going business or formal?

I think what I'd do for the Mom is to let her listen in somehow or another if that was possible. Maybe on speaker phone? I'm sure there's a better way but that's the only thing that comes to mind.

Yes, I have a digital camera and I know how to use the video function....what do I do with it then? Save it to CD?

Yes, you can save it to CD or save it to your hard drive and email it to them.

With some of the new video editing software, you could even add the Salt Lake Temple or something else to the background.

Many photo shops will convert your photos to a simple DVD for you.
