Had dinner with someone from the board…

Turns out silentkid isn’t nearly as smarmy in real life as he makes himself out to be here. We had a groovy little dinner at Claim Jumpers. I don’t recall what he had, but his friend and I threw caution to the wind and embraced the paradox of our spinster-status by ordering the Widow Maker Burger.
Conversations included Mormonism, who on the board probably smells like bologna and wet dog in real life, and music. Also of note is that silentkid’s 10 foot 6 inch stature gave me the feeling that I was a Lilliputian dining with Gulliver.
For others that are ever in Las Vegas, results may vary, but the offer for company and a meal is always on the table.

Steuss, you're such a tease. When I saw that you had started a thread about having dinner with someone from the board, I thought that you and Blixa had finally hooked up.
Hurry up already, you two!

I believe the onus is upon me. Hopefully I will make it to NYC soon (as my friend is getting the boot from the Hotel Chelsea at the end of next month). Maybe I will make a rendezvous with Blixa my New Year’s resolution.

Thanks for agreeing to hang out with my gargantuan, apostate afro. I ate some sort of tri-tip sandwich (though I can't really claim that I ate much of it). The conversation was great. I was disappointed, however, that Steuss fell through on his end of the dinner deal; I explicitly told him that he was responsible for bringing some Vegas "hotties" to accompany us. My immense, "Cousin Eddie" stature tends to repel them, while his neatly trimmed beard and reputation as a local vigilante enforcer attracts them like a DCP post attracts Mr. Scratch. My friend never tired of joking that he was playing the third wheel on my "blind date".
In all seriousness, it was really cool to meet someone from the board in real life. Dr. Steuss is an awesome dude, but you all already know that.
If anyone visits the Denver area and wants some company for a meal, I'll be around.

Sorry, it's sacred... er, I mean secret.

Hey! Next time there's a group get together, feel free to give me an invite!
which claimjumper did you go to? The one by Green Valley Ranch, or the one in the new Town Square mall?

Cool! I'll be meeting up with many friends who are sashaying through town this semester. Just a few days ago I got a random email from a girl I used to know when I lived upstate and was in grad school---jeez I guess I last saw her about 17 years ago! Anyway in the ensuing information exchange it was revealed that she had been in a band that I was familiar with: in fact, I used to regularly rock out to one of their tunes on a car tape in the mid-90's. All that time I had no idea it was Susan singing! Hopefully she'll be coming in for the Biennial in the Spring...
