Cause the "Jodie goes to jail" confused me. I was hoping the banana would clear it up for me. Maybe not.

The jodie thing confused me too.
It is because...

You feel better. You had a banana.
Other things might have made you feel better.
You didn't have a banana. You don't feel better.
Other things might make you feel better.
You don't feel better. You didn't have a banana.
You don't feel better, so having a banana or anything else didn't make you feel better.
So It can be concluded that the last one is the most correct.

See now, cheesecake always makes me feel better. So....
If I don't feel good, it can be said it's because I didn't have cheesecake.
If I do feel good, one can say, "Oh, you just had a cheesecake, huh."

I disagree with your last sentence because you might have had something else that made you feel good as opposed to cheesecake. So the person cannot be sure that you just had cheese cake, but if you didn't feel good, one can truely conclude that you haven't had cheese cake.

Almost. Nothing makes me feel as good as cheesecake. So if I'm really "up", then #3 holds true.
