What's the premise of that show?

A 17 year old boy moves to a snowy town with his aunt and cousin. There he begins to remember many things from the past when he visited seven years ago. He meets several girls and begins to remember his connections with them as well as promises he made. The supernatural is a big theme too. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else, but I was surprised to find out who one of the girls, Makoto, was.
I did not see any spoilers in here, but it links to spoilers:

Apparently it started as a visual novel (PC game) for ages 18+, but later editions were made for all ages.
I'm not sure I'm much for taste in Anime, but I enjoy Kanon. I'm usually easily amused by simple things. In this case, I'm amused by how Yuichi teases Ayu and Makoto.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.

Speaking of prank calls, here is a great one wherein they call up a Chinese food restaurant and place an order, then put him on hold before he reads it all back to verify. They quickly call up another Chinese food restaurant and put them on with each other. Therefore, while the first guy is reading back the order, the second guy assumes that's the order he's placing, then he tries to read it back to verify, etc. Hilarity ensues:
