When I join a new board people think I am a troll, or not being serious. Hence the pirate investigation.

Don't worry about it. I've been called a troll, too.

I get rather paranoid about posters that PM me after a relatively short time on the board. For some reason there have been a few posters that will join and within hours or days they start to send me PMs -- so I find that odd. Some have told them I make them horny or how lonely they are away from their wives, yada yada yada I usually assume they're someone trying to get "information" from me -- or something. It seems that some pretend they're female and say very uhhh...... *odd* things to me as if they're actually a man. I'll say ridiculous things to them and then within a few PMs tell them I think they're a man (or full of it) and to go away. Maybe not the best way to handle it, but that's what I do. :D

No, you're not a troll. Why, has someone accused you of being one?

Do you live under a bridge and yearn to retire to Mammoth Cave?

Do you fear that sunlight will turn you to stone?

Are you hideously ugly and/or monstrously huge, strong, and owner of a big nose?

If you answer yes to any of these questions...you may possibly be a troll. Of course why a troll would be cruising the Net is beyond me...but I'm sure Brits and trolls could crossbreed, forming either a very ugly Brit or a somewhat attractive Troll. Either way I'm sure it will have bad teeth and crave fish and chips.

The reason you were branded that way is because you think, and write, randomly. Instead of typing whatever jumps into your mind, ask yourself beforehand: Does the sentence I'm about to type have something to do with the topic of this thread?

If your answer is "yes," go ahead and type it. If your answer is "no," refrain from typing it.

Follow that maxim and you'll never be labeled a troll again.

You see? That is an example of a sentence that you would refrain from typing, 'cause it has nothing to do with whether or not you're a troll.
