Deseret News July 1850 story/ad

Interesting story/ad from the July 1850 Desert News that I ran across:

NEW GOODS

HOLLADAY & WARNER have just received direct from the States and will be opened for
inspection and sale on Wednesday 3rd in the 18th Ward, a complete and general assortment
of merchandise which they offer to the citizens of great salt lake city and valley on favorable
terms the stock consists of a general assortment of staple and fancy dry goods
Ladies and gents boots and shoes, mens boys hats caps, ladies bonnets parasols etc...
also oysters, sardines, pepper sauce, lemon syrup, tobacco, teas, rice etc...
They will receive in addition to the above by the train due 1st of August, groceries, hardware,
glass, nails, oil, paints, leather, stationery, etc...
Messrs H & W have come here with a view to a permanent location and it is their intention to
do business upon that fair and liberal scale which will in future insure them a liberal patronage
from the citizens of the valley G S L City July 1 1850
