My supervisor suggested I look at metamaterials and negative index materials. It is so awesome.

However exciting this is, there is also an ethical downfall. Cool, our governments can do a lot with this type of material and it has great uses as well as being utterly cool. However, in the wrong hands this can be a threat.

Do the positives really overcome the negatives?

its highly unlikely it will surpass even a tenth of the media hype that has been drummed up.

I never seen it in the media til I looked it up. I am studying Physics and I trust it is capable of working. I will look up IOP Journals. I don't know if I am allowed to copy them and it is unlikely you will be able to view them unless a member of the IOP, but I will check if I can copy in parts.
