Things we've bought our kids that were a total waste of $$$

As I'm blowing off the driveway to remove the Yashino Cherry stems and flower petals we inherited when we bought the house, I blew a Lite-Brite peg off into the the abyss of the back yard, it occured to me to start a thread asking what others have bought their kids that turned out to be a total waste of money. What is yours?
by the way, never plant a Yashino Cherry near the house or driveway.

Hey nobody,
My kids loved their Lite Brite. I still have it and use it in class. :-) I can't think of anything that literally sat around and rotted. They played with virually everything we bought them and things that cost little or no money at all.
p.s. I personally hated the Happy Meal toys!*
*Except for the Teenie Beanie Babies!

My kids have a really sweet play room I created for them. I bought them a foozball table, the walls are covered in bamboo (don't ask -- I was dedicated!!;), I have lanterns hanging from the ceiling, on one wall there is nothing but license plates from Hawaii, Florida, California, etc... , they have a karaoke machine, a single bed that I made a grass bed skirt for (I made it out of those hula grass skirts), old posters and postcards that I collected with bathing beauties from the 50's grace the room, huge floor pillows I made for them to lounge on in a variety of tropical prints, a palm tree in the corner, a big tv, computer in there etc.... they never, ever, ever use it...
Guess who uses that room?
Now if I could only find someone to play foozball with....

Its not the jungle room they have a problem with Moni, its that every time they go in there you attack them like Kato from the "Pink Panther" films.

I regret my kids getting in to the Yu-gi-oh card craze. Those stinkin cards are everywhere. They have a dresser drawer they can't even use because it is full of tins of those cards. If they stay in the living room for too long, Mom throws them in the trash.

In that case, Gazelam, it's time for you to get into Magic: the Gathering, which can be described as Yu-Gi-Oh for adults.
Then you and your kids can enjoy the Collectible Card Game hobby together.

My boys collected thousands of pogs. What a waste that was.

Luckily I got into books at an early age so my youth stuff is still kinda useful. As to my toys....my parents sold all my good crap at a yard sale one time. They sold all my Ghostbusters action figures (including my Stay Puft Marshmellow Man) and even my Alf stuffed animal! Argh! (now I think I know where the depression came from LOL).
