What shoes would go best with this, but not too high or erm crazy? Could I wear red converse's?

Ooooo, I love ball gowns! I still play dress up, at times...
I adore the red, Pirate! Will you wear gloves? I would wear heels. :)
What's the occasion?

It's sooo odd you posted this today. Just this morning I was thinking about going to the opera and wanting to buy a new dress. There is a man that is calling me (I was supposed to accompany him to the Nashville symphony last month and bailed on him -- I was nervous and hesitant) and he's invited me out for my birthday:

Yet, I was thinking of a sleek, slender fitting black dress. Nothing too fancy. Although I may just buy a dress and sit at home....

I am going to the end of year ball
http://www.hullstudent.com/news/index.php?page=article&news_id=8676. I had to queue over night for the tickets. From 9pm till 10am. I thought as the dress is long I could wear anything. I never thought about gloves. I think you should go have fun. Whens your birthday?

My birthday is next week. I'm not certain if I'll go or not. I'd like to go, yet, don't want to go with him. :)
I just looked at your link and it said there is a theme of Grease this year. Is it Grease the movie?
Well, whatever you decide to wear I like the red dress. I bought a red dress about Christmas time for myself and haven't had anywhere to wear it. I just liked it.

The theme is Grease the movie but the dress code is formal. We aren't supposed to dress that way people are paid to dress that way. We just dress formal. I bought that dress so I will be wearing that. I might have to get it adjusted though. I am size 12 and 8. So it's not easy to get a dress that fits perfectly. If that doesn't make sense, I am 8 in tshirts and 12 in trousers.
Maybe you should go out with some friends.
I have a spare ticket for the ball. My friend whom I bought the ticket for is too young. I can't really think of anyone I can bring cause most of my friends are coming anyway, so I might just sell it on Facebook.

Girl, go be the belle of the ball, and let everyone stare and grovel at how beautiful you are.
With that dress...gloves...and a fan, if you can find one...necessity as well as style, as those events get hot. If you can find one the same red of the dress, that would be cool, or gold with red trim, or black.
If it's floor length, why not flats or converse? I have flat feet, I will be wearing bedroom slippers the day I get married. Who's gonna see?
