My daughter paid for FOX for us all to watch. I get my regular dose of outrage watching FOXNEWS, especially O'Reilly and Hannity. It seems the word "Liberal" is a dirty word to them. And yet the man they regularly belittle as a very liberal pol, Obama is encouraging Black fathers to be more responsible, something one would think came from the Conservative side. Health care is a big issue with your country, yet we have universal health care here, hospitals and Dr visits can be free (in a sense we all pay 1.5% of our wage unless u opt out and buy health insurance). No one need become bankrupt. There was a program on TV here where an American visited UK, Germany, Switz land, Japan to study their systems, they all had some kind of what you guys call "socialised" medicine and the system was brought in by one party (usually Social Democratic) and was so popular that the Conservatives when coming to power maintained.

Conservative talk radio caused most of it in my opinion. At least down here. I've also noted that many politically liberal people also self-identify as moderates in casual conversation. Not sure why this is or it could just be a regional thing.

I think it took over a billion dollars and the best strategy of conservative think tanks and talk radio to pull this off. Unfortunately it has been to the detriment of the American populace. They even had the American people believing that conservative and religion went together, as if any religion and greed are compatible.

Obama plans to nullify all tax cuts made over the last 8 years and increase the capitol gains tax to 30%. And all this durign a Gas increase of epic proportions and a recession. that's why Liberal is a dirty word.

That and the distribution of condoms in school and a disregard for the atomic family.

Why is Liberal such a dirty word in American Politics

A liberal is simply one who is generous. A political liberal is one who is generous with someone else's money, freedom, time, life, etc.
