Blog Questions

I'm thinking of setting up a blog here as a dry run for something else I want to do. So, I'm looking at the form thing and near the bottom it shows blog styles and flashes color combinations but I don't see where or how you can choose a color. Is there only one color to be had there?

Also, once you set up a blog, can you change the name of it like you can on a post title?

Are there different fonts I can use for the entries?

Can you edit your entries?

What else do I need to know?

Thanks,
Jersey Girl

The colors don't work, I have tried. You can however change the colour of someone else's blog to suit your reading, sometimes when i can't read the orange text of a person's blog, I change it to blue.

Also, once you set up a blog, can you change the name of it like you can on a post title?

I think you can in the Blog CP, but I have never tried.

No, you can have the text in you blog the same as it would be in a post. You can change the colour or style of the text but not the font.
Can you edit your entries?

Yes.What else do I need to know?

You can choose the level of privacy for each individual entry. You can put in pictures using BBcodes. And it is probably best if you disable the shout box in your CP or you will get lots of spam. There's not much to it and it can become very addictive, hence the reason I have stopped as I have over 100 blog entries and most are just crud.

I look forward to reading your blog.

About the color thing. I was referring to the format that I see, that kind of frames the blog itself. Golden green, blue, etc.

Can I choose those? I don't recall seeing blogs framed in anthing except the golden color.

That is what I was talking about. There is a part you choose the colour and it is like all the colours in one colour and when you go on someone elses blog you can change it's colour. The colour of the frame. they all come up the orange colour, regardless of what you choose but the person reading it can change it. I haven't done it in a while, I will give it ago and see if it still works.

Here is shades blog... http://mormondiscussions.com/discuss/we ... php?e=1684 see the four coloured squares in the top right corner, Orange, Blue, Green and Pink, you can choose one and it will change the colour. But you can't preset the colour. People's cookies will make them all the colour they choose.

Oh, okay. I get it now. And don't expect anything great in the way of entries! I want to pratice using the format in the hopes of developing a style I want to use for another project.

Yikes. I just realized I am the most boring person on the face of the earth. I do almost nothing without a goal.

What the heck.

I think that is a great attitude to have. So many people would die for what you have. You are not boring, you just have routine. Setting goals happens to sme people and they don't notice, everyone has an agenda for everything they do even if they don't realise it, but the ability to contro that agenda and be physically aware of it is a skill. I see you as a well organised person who is creative and sets out to do as they planned. Look at your Child play research and where it has got you!!! You have a chance to make a change to the lives of many people and your research and ideas concerning such in my opinion are right and you had/have the creativity and imagination and most importanly the understanding of a childs mind, life and experiences to go out and do something about it and I liked it. And I haven't decided properly yet, but I have an application for for volunteering as an event planner in the creche at my university and you inspired me. Boring people are not creative, imaginative and certainly don't do what they plan.

The research project is the motivation behind wanting to develop a style using the format of the blog. That's not what I'm going to write about there, but that's my motivation. Thanks for your enthusiasm! I love what I do. :-)
