A Litter Box Full of Roses

I had a bouquet of roses on my piano. It had been there a few days, but still looked nice.
Just a few moments ago, I went by the piano and noticed there were only barren stems, all askew, in the vase.
Puzzled, I made my way to the laundry room where my dryer was buzzing for me to take out a load of dry towels. I passed the nook in the back hallway where the litter box is kept, and there, in the box, were all the petals from my bouquet of roses!
I can't wait until the kids come home from school so I can find out the reasoning behind that little shenanigan.

You don't suppose that maybe your cat was just trying to pretty up its box?

Check your camera KA, I bet you will find Kitty-litter-porn on it.
Filthy animals!

If the petals were strewn on top of the litter that's one thing. If they were embedded in its contents---well, that's another matter completely. I had a cat once who liked to eat "curling" ribbon--you know the kind you tie packages with and then curl with the scissors. Every time she left something in the box it was "decorated."

I can't get over how uninsightful you are, KA. It's obvious, even to the untrained observer, that your kitty buried something precious in the litter box and chose to memorialize it with the rose petals.

This reminds me of when B totally demolished a vase of sunflowers last summer.

Exhibit B (B trying to act innocent--"What? I didn't do that."):

Oh, man, I've been there, Bruiser.
Consider it a reboot.
