EQ VST Plug-in

Post by _Doctor Steuss »

First, just for Silentkid... yet another new toy:

Now for a question/favor (I know there are quite a few recording/musician dudes here). Does anyone know of a fairly good EQ plug-in (freeware would be groovy, since they all basically do the same damn thing). I don't want a linear one (already have that covered). I need something with 20+ bands (the more the better... 30 would be great, more than 30 would make my pants very tight). The main things I need is to be able to cut everything below the 30 mark and everything above about the 18k mark (in order to give me a bit higher ceiling for when I boost the end signal). I also have a few spectrums where I need the ability to cut just that specific Hz (the more specific the better) level in order to get rid of a noisy hum I'm getting from direct record from the PA. And of course, it’s always nice to have the added control for sweetening up certain tracks so they sit better in the mix (something I’m not really finding myself able to do with the fancy-schmancy linear dillys).

Thanks,
Stu

Darn!

I thought this post was about an Elders Quorum/Visiting Teachers Plug-in and clicked on it with a sort of lusty curiosity.

But, no.

Disappointed,

I love that preamp. It looks kinda familiar. ;) I don't know much about EQ plug-ins, but I'll ask my friend. If I find something, I'll let you know.

If only I could remember who gave me the idea to get myself a preamp. Hmmm...

I've liked it so far (haven't used it a lot, but enough to get a general flavor). It came with a noisy-ass tube, but I switched it out with a new Groove Tube, and now it’s just about as quiet as my recording interface’s built-in preamps.

Thanks dude.

As an unrelated side note, are you still planning on making it down (or at least making out) for Halloween?

I'm still planning on it. It depends on how things go at work this next week.
