Apparently a McCain volunteer in Pittsburg along with the Pennsylvania Director of the McCain campaign concocted a story claiming that the volunteer was beaten by a 6' 4" black man who was enraged by her McCain bumper sticker. Even before the police report, the Pennsylvania Campaign Director jumped the gun and reported that the B scratched on her cheek stood for Barack. Obvious collusion.

Matt Drudge in his Report splashed a sensational headline across his front-page: "MCCAIN VOLUNTEER ATTACKED AND MUTILATED IN PITTSBURGH -- with a 'B' carved into her face."

The Nation story said "Todd, Drudge and the McCain supporters who pushed this racially-incendiary story should be deeply ashamed of themselves. It is the lowest blow in an already disgustingly dirty campaign."

Todd was employed by the College Republican National Committee where her duties included the recruitment of college students. Let’s underscore that: this was no “volunteer”, this was a paid operative.
