when believers want to give their claims more weight, they dress these claims up in scientific terms. When believers want to belittle atheism or secular humanism, they call it a "religion". -Beastie

1. "I think that capitalism and the free market is the best economic system ever devised to create wealth"
Barack Obama
Oh my! And they say John McCain is far up Bush?
They're both just more of the same.
I'm sorry if people don't actually want to discuss these quotes, just ignore my comments and don't reply to them if that's the case.
Capitalism may have worked for us in the past, or at least worked for some. But it doesn't work because it causes division in the form of class, property, wealth, etc, (This is a no-brainer, obviously). Basically, capitalism can never work if we want to live sustainably because it causes people to be corrupt, for profit.
It's a good system in a small society, but it will fail miserably as the global model it's becoming.
I'll stop now because otherwise this post will cause your browser to max out. ;\

Ha! Dodo = Sean Hannity. That works, for me!
I had a lucky guess with the Obama quote and I was leaning towards Coggins/Droopy for the dodo quote...
Brenton, I think unchecked capitalism is not wise, of course no one is seriously pushing for that in our society.
