President-elect Obama at his first press conference, answering a question about whether he had spoken to any previous president:

In terms of speaking to former presidents, I have spoken to all of them, uh, that are, uh, living ... obviously, uh, President Clinton, uh ... [laughter] ... hey, I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan, uh, thing about doin’ any seances...

A cheap shot at Nancy Reagan, who is currently recovering from a fall in which she broke her hip. Classy.

Yes, let's start attacking an 87 year widow who stood by her husband as he died slowly over a decade from Alzheimer's disease. I'm sure that the Obama fans will say that it was a joke gone bad, but it's clearly the comment of an immature jerk. And it's inaccurate; Nancy was a follower of astrology. Hillary spoke of talking to Eleanor Roosevelt but I suspect that she meant it figuratively.

Postscript - he called Nancy Reagan to apologize - but he's a classless jerk. The real Obama is coming out. And by the way, there is NO office of the president elect.

Yeah, that was quite a shot. It's not surprising that his hatred and resentment for Nancy Reagan seeped out of his carefully manicured persona. It's hard to contain such contempt for very long.

I'm sure he meant to say that he "would have talked with President Reagan, but Mrs. Reagan's spiritual gifts for communication don't work in HELL." Because you know that's what he was thinking. You can just tell.

I'm guessing that when they get their puppy, he'll joke that they named the puppy "Franklin", but they named the poop "Nancy". Because really, that's just the kind of guy he is.

Anyone who gives any creedence to seances is ridiculous and is fully deserving of ridicule. Nancy Reagan is ridiculous.

Oh please, Rush Limbaugh. Hardly immature at all. It was a remark made off the cuff, as an attempt at humor, referencing her interest in astrology. It was certainly not intended to be a cheap shot at the woman, which is why he was so quick to apologize to her privately.
