All you nay sayers go suck a hot rock!

Updated 9:48 p.m. ET - Mitt Romney declared victory in his quest to become the Republican presidential nominee on Tuesday and kicked off his general election campaign against President Barack Obama in earnest following a clean sweep of primaries in the Northeast.

Romney's performance in Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island allowed him to cap a tumultuous GOP primary cycle that extended longer than many expected. Romney's march toward the 1,144 delegates needed to secure the nomination appeared, at this point, to be all but a formality.

And, eager to begin prosecuting his case against Obama, Romney took a victory lap in the general election swing state of New Hampshire -- rather than appearing in any of the states hosting nominating contests tonight or in the future -- to declare, "a better America begins tonight."

"Tonight I can say thank you, America," Romney told a cheering crowd in the Granite State. "After 43 primaries and caucuses, many long days and more than a few long nights, I can say with confidence -- and gratitude -- that you have given me a great honor and solemn responsibility. And, together, we are going to win on Nov. 6."

Every time someone votes for Romney Seamus the dog cries a car roof tear.

For now, I wouldn't worry about having a Mormon president. I do have problems with some of Obama's agenda, but you can't expect perfection.

Electoral vote doesn't usually get going until after the convention when major polling starts in specific states. But I think Obama has an easier path to victory in the Electoral College.

It's going to be awesome. The time is ripe to appeal to blacks and the "underprivileged" and explain to them how the Democrats have kept them down for decades. The Democrats MUST prevent most the "underclass" from advancing in order to keep their strategy going.

Congratulations to Romney for winning five basically uncontested primaries.

Good luck with that. I'm sure that tired, old argument will suddenly start working now, especially coming from an inarticulate member of an organization that discriminated against them.

Perhaps Elder Romney will bear his testimony of the truthfulness of it. Or he can rebuke the devil liberals "in the name of Jesus Christ," with the power of his holy priesthood and his right arm raised to the square.

Now that would be an awesome debate to watch.

Hasn't been tried on a large scale. One-on-one, I know it works especially because it's true.

Romney will lose to Obama, but I wish he'd win, just for the massive impact it would have on the church. The church would finally have to deal with its problems in the heat of 4 years of public spotlight.

Oh, and you Mormon Republicans who think Romney is your great white (*cough*) hope, there is barely an ounce of difference between him and Obama, So regardless of the outcome, you're still going to have an out of touch wealthy moderate in the White House.
