To my dear and beloved MDB democrat friends (Graham, Beastie, Bond, etc, etc)
America has spoken! (Loud and clear!)
I offer you all my sincere congratulations on the big win last night!
As for me, I accept this result and I tip my hat to the winner/winners!
At the end of the day, no matter what lever we may have pulled, we, as one nation, have elected our President.
Congratulations to President Obama!
Peace,
Ceeboo

+1
When my unit was first told we were deploying for Iraq in 2003 before the shooting started, I was asked by a number of people what I thought since I was not politically a supporter of President Bush and disagreed with the rational leading up to the war.
My comment then, "When the order comes, it isn't about politics. He's my commander in chief and I'm a professional soldier. That's all that matters."

wow...a tear in my eye...from the fumes....
For those of us not under a military service contract with the USA we can take great joy in knowing that our freedom to disagree with, demean, disrespect, and criticize our President is one of the great freedoms our country stands for...a freedom often preserved by the before-mentioned citizens (my wife being one).
So, while we always pay lip service to being a good american and falling in goosestep behind the President, that is not the reality of our country and it is not the reality of our success.
The President, as all elected officials, are our servants and they are not intended to lead us but rather to follow us. That is why we have a President, Congress, and Supreme Court...because no matter the title none of us is better or worse than the other...and not one among us is ever meant to be "untouchable".
So save all that kum-ba-ya stuff for christmas with your family...this is the USA government...get serious, get to work, and do not think you can ever tread on me!

America has spoken! (Loud and clear!)
50+ million vs. 50+ million with the overall turnout down is not loud and clear by any stretch of the imagination.

Very well,
For the next four years, the very reason that Mr. and Mrs. Obama will store their shoes at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, is directly and soley becuase of the American voters.
Better?

its actually because of the electoral college...which can either adhere to the popular vote or not.
